In short: What a race. Fantastic course.
In full: Someone who does not know the area might consider the route a bit 'hilly'. But if you arrive expecting regular climbing then you will love this race. With good weather the scenery is first rate.

In short: SPECTACULAR! Even for a virgin marathon!
In full: I decided to run this as my first marathon on my 35th birthday. They all said I was mad! Mad I might be, but uninspired I wasn't!

This was a beautiful day out with glorious scenery and wonderful organisation. And just when you thought you were doing really well - along came the Seven Sisters!

The brilliant atmosphere swept me along in my agony all the way to the end.

Thanks for a fantastic memory. SUPERB!

In short: Spectacular. Very hard. Very friendly. Hugely satisfying. Shame about walkers (and some runners) starting early!
In full: This is an amazing race: much, much more than "just a marathon", the hills are utterly relentless. The views are incredible. The atmosphere is very friendly, and quite low key: no mile markers, few water stations, certainly no "sports drinks", but scones, Mars Bars and cups of tea.

I have one gripe however, which is that large numbers of walkers and slower runners take it upon themselves to set off an hour or more before the official start. They then get in the way, and make it very difficult to judge where one is in the field. Surely, surely, the first rule of any race should be that no-one wearing a race number starts before the gun!

In short: A race that you have to do.
In full: But not for a PB. This is a tough course, but a race that everyone that runs marathons has to do at some point. I am more then happy to say that this is one race that I will be back at again.

In short: geat race but not for your first marathon!!
In full: this is probably the most scenic marathon in the uk but because of that it is challenging-no p.b.s to be had here!!!You have to walk some of the hills unless you are superfit!!
Must do for all keen marathoners!!
