In short: The 3 laps helps you keep an eye your pace which is good for beginners. The other advantage of this is that you know where to fly and where to hold off on subsequent laps when your more fatigued. I found this to be vital on the inclines.

In short: I did the 2 stage relay - excellent for the slowies like me!
In full: A very well organised race. Plenty of toilets, drink stations and forumites! Hills were hard for a less experienced runner like me and through the villages you could go for a while without seeing anyone apart from the odd runner! Windy as hell. Marshalls were excellent and great encouragement from fellow runners. Well done Stopsley Striders!

In short: The Horse Dentist spoke words of Truth I died at 21 miles
In full: OK I didn't actually die, but crashed and burnt big time. Was v windy on a hard course but didn't do enough long runs in training. Big thanks to all who helped me around and big apology for being unable to stop talking about an oddly emotional experience. First marathon first time name read out by tannoy bloke, at 3:37 am well pleased. At least it didn't rain.

In short: More inclines than I expected ..... and windy !
In full: I didn't enjoy the 3 laps - sometimes it doesn't help to know what's coming up around the corner! Organisation was very good - I suffered through lack of training and my body did not work in the latter stages !!! Very good facilities for changing, showering, recovering etc. I personally won't do it again - it's a long way from Chorley and makes it an expensive race for me. Thanks for the experience though.

In short: Enjoyable run, good friendly atmosphere, some cheeky little hills (although none too severe) but oh that headwind!

In short: Allowing the slower runners to start early is a huge bonus. For once I was finishing with lots of other people around me
In full: I dont know why people say this isnt scenic, i have run much less scenic marathons.Excellent organisation, lots of isotonic drinks stations(pity it wasnt gin and tonic), wonderfully encouraging marshalls and quite a challenging course, which was very windy today!.A great way to finish the year

In short: Good organisation, nice route (even though 3 laps) and great marshalls. Too windy by half. Nice medal and T-Shirt.
