In short: Great organisation and great support from locals!
In full: My first half marathon but one to remember. The organisation was great with the plentiful drink and sponge stations making the hot weather alot more bearable. The atmosphere and local support was really good, especially the lady with the hose pipe- thankyou!
It was a bit of a pain being stuck behind the caravan on the narrow road near the end of the course and more toilets were needed in the car park but otherwise a brilliantly organised event.

In short: Tough but beautiful
In full: I don't do hills well, and it was hillier than I had anticipated so on a hot day starting at 11:00, I posted a very slow time. But, what a route! Magnificent scenery - more than made up for the tough run. And the very flat Amsterdam marathon and Great South run next month that this was part of my preparation for will seem all the less daunting for it. Very well organised race, the cars were a nuisance but never seemed dangerous due to first rate marshalling and policing.

In short: Hot, Hilly but excellent rac
In full: Dispite the hot well, the organisers can't change that, the race was brilliant. Well organised and the supporters on the course were brilliant. Especially the family with the hose pipe and jelly babies around 10 miles.

The hills were plentiful but the race website mentions them, so you are warned.

plenty of drinks and sponges around the course ans at the end.

In short: Loved it, first time but definitely not the last.
In full: Great organisation, good local support and friendly runners. Thanks to the lady with the hose at around 10 miles I think.

In short: A grand day out!
In full: This is a lovely half marathon even with the hills. Scenery is magnificent and the local support really seems to have grown since I last ran it in '04. Very hot out there this year but the water and sponge stations were enough to see me through! I even managed to get to the top of Tiptoe this time without keeling over!

In short: Good race
In full: Hot day, and start time didn't help. Course was challening. Water/spronge stations brilliant and often. No problems with the traffice, or the toilets as there were loads at the rec ground and dotted around all over the place.

And I ran a new PB! :o)

In short: Better than last year
In full: Great race, better than last year but then i did do a PB. Traffic was not such a big problem this year only a couple of times i thought i was going to get run over. In all it was hot, hilly but worth the challenge.

In short: Nice runners - first time I've never been cut up/jostled,shoved in a race!
In full: Too hot and hilly but excellent organisation, lots of water and sponges made it bearable though water bottles would have been much, much better. Happy to pay a few pounds more for this if need be. Small gripe were selfish caravanners who blocked the road at mile 11 and nearly squashed me and another runner between it and a car. Great atmosphere but not PB material for those of us who train on the flat. Good warm-up for the Great North Run in 2 weeks. Thanks to locals who provided hosepipe, Powerade and cheers. I needed it!
