In short: Only six loos
In full: Luckily I was tipped off about the queue which took half an hour to get through & timed it perfectly, but what about the hundreds behind me? Why is it that drivers in Stroud are unable to switch off their engines when they are stationary? Apart from that, an ok race, I didn't enjoy the single file sections, especially as there were a lot of walkers to get past.

In short: Fab 1st half-marathon!
In full: Car parks too far away.
Not enough toilets-had to use mens due to ladies queue & just managed to join the runners starting off!
Fantastic support from locals who came out to cheer us on.
Friendly atmosphere.
Immediate text race support was an unexpected bonus, especially as this was my 1st half-marathon.
Varied, undulating and very managable route.

In short: Well-organised but distinctly average
In full: I got what I wanted, which was a reasonably fast, reasonably local race at this time of year. No major complaints, I just can't get particularly excited about it. Organisation was generally faultless apart from the lack of toilets: a few more cubicles really wouldn't have broken the bank. Definitely more undulating than flat. Overpriced for what you get - would suggest less emphasis on big prize money and more attention to the average runner.

In short: Well done Stroud - Always an excellent race
In full: This is the third year running that I've done this race and once again thoroughly enjoyed it, especially as I knocked 3 minutes off my PB. The course has enough undulations to keep it interesting. Shame about the weather but that's one thing that can't be planned for. Loads of motivational marshalls around the course and plenty of people came out to support despite the weather. T-shirt and medal were great - why bother with a goody bag when so many of them are just filled with leaflets and adverts...I would rather any money saved from making carrier bags was given to charity!

In short: Sooooooooooo boring
In full: I've done this race so many times I could probably run it in my sleep. At about nine miles I could take it no more, and stopped out of sheer boredom (which isn't something I normally associate with running). If only they'd vary the route a bit - even run it in the other direction....

In short: Undulating rather than hilly
In full: Excellent orgnanisation, great fun day out. Huge thanks to marshalls and supporters. Plenty of drinks stations and reasonable scenery. Bad bits....toilet queue did not look like a lot of fun, need at least twice times the amounts of portaloos. Also the run back just before and after the industrial estate....cars and lorries way, way too close for comfort.

In short: Good event, no big problems but more loos needed
In full: Single file section is difficult, with the change of course this is where the bulk of the runners are trying to pass the walkers and there is no chance people will stay behind for nearly a mile. The weather made the busy road section at the end worse than normal, although marshaling at the Stonehouse roundabout was excellent. Slight problem with people coming out of the field and filtering in to the start in front of the 1hour 30m marker which made for a lot of dodging and weaving early on.

In short: Good well-organised race
In full: Good atmosphere with lots of supporters on route. The Jazz band was upliting and kept me going through the dull industrial estate.

In short: A really good run for my first half marathon, not keen on the single file section though
