In short: Long climb at half-way was the killer for me, but worth it
In full: My first marathon was Paris 2001 at 40 years old. I thought that was an achievement. Snowdonia 2005 has proven to me that there are people that talk about pushing the pain barrier and there are those that do it. My goal now is to get a sub 4:00 for 2006. The next 12 months schedule has a lot of beasting up long climbs for me to achieve that goal. Thanks must go to the organisers, and bigger thanks to the incredible friendliness of the people who I ran, talked, and almost cried with - see you next year.

In short: My First Snowdonia and 4th Marathon and the one I'd recomend above all the rest - London included. Great atmosphere both from runners, supporters and exceptional support team. One to do before you die...

In short: Unlike the Welsh Tourist Board advert we weren't asked to give the mud back at the end!!!
In full: Just Amazing. My first marathon, but what an event! Fantastic people, fantastic organisation, incredible (!) weather. A really hard challenge but hope to be back in 2006. Thank you to everyone for putting on such a stupendous event.

In short: Awesome !
In full: The weather at the start was hideous but helped to create an incredible atmosphere amongst all competitors with a determination to help anyone who was struggling. The Marshalls and supporters at the feed stations were brilliant with even the offer of a cuppa before the end of the race ! This is such a tough course but in such glorious surroundings and with a mind blowing descent back into Llanberis I can't wait until next year.

In short: Absolutely superb
In full: Coming from flatlands of East Anglia, i have enjoyed many holidays in Snowdonia, but this was the best experience by far. My first marathon for 22yrs and i bettered my last time. Probably due to uncontrolled descent into LLanberis.Weather atrocious at first, but once coming down the pass with the views and the support it was awesome.Enjoyed it better as the race went on. Miles 14 to 20 could not stop glancing at hils on right wondering how it was going to be getting up there! Coming down agian was the most fun i have had with running shoes on, cannot ever remember before hearing runners actually shouting "Wheeee" as they ran down a hill, what a memory!! Cannot wait for next year.

In short: Could have been a triathlon...
In full: First swim out of the Nant Peris start. Then run a few big hills. Then Ski on your A**e down into Llanberis. I couldnt believe the fantastic encouragement given to any stragglers/strugglers by their fellow runners.
