In short: A tough and challenging course, plenty of ups and downs with a killer hill at 7-8 miles. Organisers did a fantastic job of making it run smoothly in awful weather conditions. Not too much traffic on the route. Date of review: March 2, 2010
In short: Great race on a truly awful day In full: It was one of those days where you like outside and think "Hmmmm... Should I bother?". I'm glad that I did. The miserable rain and wind didn't deter many, and I managed to set a PB which really surprised me. Must have been the brushing shoulders with Kelly Holmes in the Sports Centre :)
Even the marshalls managed to get animated and cheer us on as best they could, which was no small feat given the conditions.
I had to give the Atmosphere 3/5 because although I can imagine it being much better, the horrible rain and wind meant people were doing the best to stay under their umbrellas!
One small grumble (and this isn't exclusive to this run) is that I am now seeing far too much advertising in my goodies bag. Save the trees. Please.
Otherwise, great work guys. I'm glad I made the trip. Date of review: March 2, 2010
In short: The race that just gets better & better - THE Half of choice! In full: Tunbridge Wells Half just gets better every year. From it's slick organisation to the excellent goodie bag at the end. No other Half I've done, or heard of, gets anywhere near this! This years' weather didn't spoil the marvellous atmosphere, with Dame Kelly starting the race & on the finish line congratulating runners & the ever helpful & enthusiastic marshals everywhere! Samba band, cheerleaders, portaloos-a-plenty, this really is a faultless race which I will be back to do next year! A 'must do' run for your racing calendar. WELL DONE TW Harriers & thank you. In short: TW Harriers did a fantastic job in very difficult weather conditions. Despite the cold, the floods and the wind they stuck with it and made us all feel very welcome. The organisation was fantastic - an example to us all. Date of review: March 2, 2010

In full: I thought i was going quite well until about mile 9 when i was overtaken by a man dressed as a banana. This put me firmly in my place. Top marks to the completly bonkers drum band. Loved there dance routine. They really helped when you were standing shivering on the start line in the pouring rain. Excellent goodie bag. Well impressed that Kelly Holmes apparently jogged home afterwards. Date of review: March 2, 2010
In short: Love this race, firmly in my calender each year. In full: This race is a lovely route but I prefer it in the sunshine! A big thanks to the marshalls who were cheery despite the weather. Fordcombe hill was even harder with a stream running down it, but the support on the route was great. Date of review: March 2, 2010
