In short: stadium start finish, lot of pavement , grass sections and a big hill
In full: Bad weather dominated the event(as usual),runners forming a penguin huddle at the start to offset wind/rain battering, puddles all the way. Testing hill at about 6k. Always a plus to have a stadium track finish.
Congrats to Bournemouth Joggers for showing a bit of imagination with finishing gifts this year they included a travelling mug, previously a diary. The last thing i need is yet another been there done it T Shirt or water bottle.

In short: Great race, dreadful weather!
In full: My first running of this race. A nice course, great to start and finish at the athletics track. Plenty of space to park etc etc. I was surprised that not all of the changing rooms and loos were open - one men's changing with only two showers was not sufficient. Other than that, great organisation and encouraging marshalling. The weather at the start - oh lordy! - we were huddled together like Emperor penguins! A few slippy grassy bits to watch out for as well

In short: 2008 - a PB and head cold. 2009 - a PB and a head cold........
In full: There is nothing like driving rain and 45mph winds at the start of the race to bring everybody together. Yes really!! As the announcer asked people to go to the start, the heavens opened and you would think people would turn around and go home. But no, people started to laugh and joke and everyone set off with a grimace/smile on their faces. As a middle field runner, I enjoyed this race as much as I enjoyed 2008. Once again, good organisation and good humoured marshalls ensured this race knocked the socks off the high profile seafront bournemouth races. Pretty much same course as 2008, but if you embraced the rain and wet conditions, it was actually fun splashing through puddles, leaves and mud. Hats off to the BLJs - I will be signing up again next year and will expect rain but this will not matter and I would recommend this race to anyone.

In short: Virtually guaranteed bad weather but the marshalls and organisation more than make up!
In full: Have to be bias as it's my own club that runs this but great atmosphere and the marshalls were terrific, especially in the wind and rain just after the start. Challenging hill just after half way and the off-road bits were a bit slippery but really enjoyed the experience. Go BJ's!!
