In short: If you don't treat this course with respect it will punishin course profile
In full: Took the advice of my race bud and held back from mile 3 - 6. Did me the world of good as these were the most punishing hills. Run along the seafront was deceptively long, but a great race. Finsih Time 1.45. Expected 1.30 or below but hey glad to finished in one piece. Thanks for the memories Hastings : ]

In short: What goes up must come down
In full: Excellent day out! Thumbs up to the people of Hastings - The crowd support was the best I've experienced. I'm not religious, but it was quite something when the church congregations even were outside to sing and cheer you on. Does require some hill training, but it's well worth it. Best half-marathon I'd say. Good luck FLMers.

In short: Excellent race, Challenging, Great Crowd Support, Make sure you train for hills!
In full: I thought this race was brilliant. It was a mini London (for the crowd support). Even though hilly I managed a PB don't ask how! A very small negative, I felt the end of the race could have been a little better organised as groups of people forming made it difficult to get a drink and back to bags and I never found the toilets, still, the shingle made a good soak-a-way (too much information I know). That said WELL DONE THE HASTINGS LIONS, THE MARSHALLS, THE PEOPLE OF HASTINGS FOR YOUR SUPPORT, I WILL BE BACK!!!

In short: Don't say they didn't warn you about the hills!
In full: Great race, fantastic crowd support, enough downhills to compensate for the long slog up Queensway. Plus it's always special to finish a race running alongside the sea.

In short: 2nd time for me and it was just as good as I remembered.
In full: Great race and a huge thanks to all those involved (given the similar sized fields, I think the Sussex Beacon organisers could look and learn...particularly when it comes to routing and road closures).

Also a big hand to all the spectators who make this such a feel good event; thanks for taking it on board as your race as well as ours.

As far as the complaints others have made: the two that seem to have some substance; well maybe an entry and exit to the baggage tent would be a good idea, and perhaps goody bags should be done away with all togeher (just have the horse brass and a cold sports drink). However, I do think people are missing the point a little...it's a great route with tremendous support...enjoy the run!

Cheers - HLS (1.29...faster next year)

In short: a slick, well organised event. The best in the calendar.
In full: This is my favourite half.I haven't done it in recent times because it clashes with the grizzly (another favourite!)This was my first event since october due to injury and I had a wonderful run.I have never walked up Queensway and continued my record!.The weather, organisation were superb. My thanks to the lions and the people of Hastings for their support.
