In short: So How Does A Top 10 Race Get Better?
In full: I have run this race a couple of times & all the plaudits are richly deserved.
To keep ahead of the competition, I recommend that you strive even harder next year. Difficult, when everything that you are doing is great already.

Two possible suggestions:

1/ Another drink station. Marathons generally have them every mile. This race I believe there were 6 on a warm day

2/ At the drink stations, label which drinks are water & which are sports drinks. Throwing a sports drink over your head is not recommended

I'll be back

fantastic race-only slight remark-the km markings were wrong in the last 5 ks ( and there was no 29 ks mark at all )

In short: Believe the hype!
In full: What a fantastic race, glorious scenery with fantastic view of the south downs, running through poppy fields, meadows, orchards, and very pretty villages. Superb marshalling and the course is a real killer but it is absolutely 100% worth it. Everybody should do this once!

In short: Great Tough Race
In full: All the comments here and elsewhere are spot on. The route is just beautiful. The marshalling 1st class. I was near the back and they were still cheering on with just the same gusto.
First Timers beware ! This is a very very tough course. Think marathon in terms of effort expended. Take the first half very very easy.
I'll be back for this one.

In short: Fabulous - scenery, marshalls and value for money
In full: Wow, I entered this race because of the eulogies on-line about it and it's all true. Glorious scenery and armies of very friendly marshalls. It sets an organisational standard that other races can just aspire to. T-shirt, banana, bottle of water and cake at the finish followed by a free swim. Very impressed. I'll be back next year.
