In short: This was my third time and managed a PB improving on my time from last year by 10 minutes and 17 seconds - well chuffed!
In full: Organisation was so much better regards parking and exiting. Congrats to the organisers for sorting that out.

In short: Fantastic experience, my first 10 mile run ever!
In full: I enjoyed the whole experience in spite of being very nervous; I had trained but 5 miles had been my previous longest distance. I thought that the organisation of the event was superb. My only comment would be that there weren't enough mile markers!

In short: Fast, flat, few walkers. Roomy field.
In full: Had the sense to set people off in waves, but seemingly random wave allocation. Bad if you wanna run alongside friends, although people can drop back in the waves but not move forward.

16,000 entrants made for a much roomier field than the Great North Run, and the majority of people looked like they'd run a few miles instead of the random people in the GNR. This meant that the field kept moving and there were less slow movers in your way.

Portsmouth struck me as a pretty unremarkable town, but the seafront was ok, and the ships were of interest.

Good race for pushing your pace as it's flat and open.

In short: A really good day - great for getting a good time
In full: Lack of supporters during miles 7-9 and around the dockyard was disappointing (especially when compared to the Great North Run crowds) but overall a well organised, flat, not-too-crowded (although enough people to be anonymous) race.
