In short: Super friendly, fun, hilly, muddy cross country 10K race! In full: A really lovely, well organised event, with a super positive vibe, that I'm sure experienced runners & beginners alike will enjoy.
Yes it was pretty hilly in places, but it gives you something to attack, and what goes up must come down. The mud and few puddles added to the interesting course.
There was a long section of uphill in the 2nd quarter of the race, but the flipside was one of the longest continuous downhill sections I've raced in ages. It felt like I was flying!
My only small request, is that the hold the race on a Saturday not a Sunday (like many other off road races). Date of review: February 4, 2013
In short: Muddy but fun In full: This is always a very enjoyable race in superb scenery. The course was muddy but not as bad as I had feared given all the rain recently. Very well organised and marshalled and the school makes an excellent start and finish area. Plenty of easy parking on surrounding roads without having to worry about creating local gridlock. In short: A fun and rewarding morning out In full: A challenging run through a varied route, both in terms of surface and gradient. Some of the puddles (close to the end) were the biggest I have ever seen on this route, no chance of keeping your legs / feet dry and the water was pretty chilly – great fun! Usual high standards of organisation from ETL and very cheery marshals standing out in the cold wind for a couple of hours – thank you
Both my children ran in the fun run and thoroughly enjoyed it too
In short: Hard, hilly and muddy but satisfying In full: This was a lot harder than I expected but well organised and a lot of fun. Mostly muddy woodland trails with a lot of uphill! Date of review: February 4, 2013
In short: Not for flat lovers In full: Great setting, a quick rendition of 'God Save the Queen' at the start and a proper challenging trail run makes this one for thr 2014 calendar. The choccy bar and tech t shirt at the finish adds to the value. Look forward to Polesdon Lacy in the summer. Date of review: February 3, 2013
In short: Hilly, boggy fun In full: A wonderful event through some nice countryside. The only way you could get a pb is if it's your first race! There was mud, there were puddles and hills (mountains?!)but it was great fun traipsing through it and the atmosphere, as at all Events To Live events, was first class.
Highly recommended for fun but not for pbs. Date of review: February 3, 2013
