In short: A great event. In full: This was my first event and I couldn't have asked for better. Excellent organisation and a great PB potential even for a beginner like me. I would definitely recommend this. I am coming back next year. Date of review: April 29, 2008
In short: Great atmosphere In full: The race itself was great but was let down a bit by the organisation at the start/finish. Course was good, flat by Sheffield standards, lots of support, lots of atmosphere and cameraderie and generally fun to do. Big traffic jam at the finish and worst of all no T-shirt!! Will definitely do it again but forget the medal and the Red Bull, just give me a T-shirt please? Date of review: April 29, 2008
In short: I really enjoyed the race. I did the London Marathon a couple of weeks ago so it was a good chance to keep my training going! I'm a bit of a plodder and the race seemed to set off really quickly , ,I paced myself and got 2hrs 10mins In full: I liked the mixture of scenery the industrial part, the very boho eccleshall road! The only complaint would be that we had to queue for a medal at the end of the race before we even got any water so that was a bit tough! apart from that it was good fun and I'll be there again next year. In short: A must do race for me. In full: This race is good at all the things you want it to be good at,
-Organisation is excellent -Course is challenging but basically pretty flat -Support is extraordinary in places -Finish/start in stadium are great -Nice medal, big city halfs should give out medals IMO, felt weird not to get one last year -No problems with facilities/parking.
My only gripe would be congestion, in several places the course felt too full this year, I found it impossible to get far enough forward at the start to achieve my expected time and spent the first three miles dodging and weaving past slower runners. Date of review: April 28, 2008
In short: Excellent race - a few hills but nothing to worry about. In full: Unfortunately I was feeling unwell so didn't have the best of races but will definitely be back next year to try again! The support in places was fantastic and I enjoyed running through the city center. The start/finish at Don Valley was special too and great for spectators. Will add this to my list of "must do" races. Date of review: April 28, 2008
In short: Enjoyed it, a few short hills but flat, Good support around the race, Well done to the Cheerleaders outsid RM at Brightside In full: Good race, good suuport, plenty of drinks,Fine with cups, would never drink a full bottle, Good access and parking. Just need to be aware of the run around the stadium at the finnish.Good value, considering the road closures and the cost of the Great North/Yorks 10K events.Plenty of toliets around the stadiumn, all maked on the map.
