In short: Really well organised, lovely support along the way. Bunching up running through the underpasses was a bit interesting!

In short: How hot?
In full: This was my first half-marathon and I had to battle with my own head for most of it. I found the heat tough, but that's the only thing the organisers couldn't plan for, they thought of everything else.

The only thing I'd change would also be water in small bottles; although I carried some water I did not anticipate how thirsty I would get between the stations at 7.5 miles (felt earlier) and 9.9 miles and I got very wobbly at one point.

Otherwise I couldn't fault it for a beginners' experience.

I AM SO PROUD OF YOU SHEFFIELD!!!

In short: A hot day in Sheffield
In full: Apart from the chaos trying to get parked, a bit of police assistance through all the sets of traffic lights would help, the rest was good. Hilly course with loads of wonderful support and a nice stadium finish, felt like a gladiator running around the top of the stadium and even got an oggi oggi in the tunnels.

In short: a lesson to other cities - a big stadium event that was smoothly run and managed an intimate atmosphere
In full: my first half marathon in sheffield, and quite simply the best out of the big city events. Very well organised, without the corporate oppression of many others of its size. Fantastic local support, great course, great goody bag. Weather a bit hot, but cant blame the organisers for that. To be fair to other cities, Sheff is lucky having 2 non-football stadium venues within a stone's throw of each other, but the fact that it has the snooker on as well only adds to its organisational excellence! Is there any event you cant stage????? Well done sheff, see you in 2011!

In short: Well done Sheffield!
In full: Really glad I chose this as my first half Marathon. Very well organised, well done to everyone involved. Great crowd support and plenty going off - cheerleaders, bands, singers etc. An interesting course, pretty much flat, other than that unexpected hill near Waitrose! A bit of a hot day today and water on every corner would have been appreciated by many but the water stations really were very frequent. Looking forward to coming back next year to beat today's time!

In short: Great first Half Marathon
In full: This was my first half marathon after only starting to run last september. The weather was hot, but the atmosphere was good. I agree that I would have preferred bottles and not cups. I would have preferred powerade at halfway mark. Loved the sponges, I was ready for a cool down.

Great organisation, plenty of marshalls very little queuing. Well done Sheffield lets hope the GNR is as good!
