In short: Good atmosphere with good points and bad
In full: A good run, quite undulating, but a fairly good route, especially out of the industrial estates. My one gripe would be the water stations, which just had cups, not bottles. Had to stop to drink, and at one station had a cue to get some water. The sponges were a nice gesture though! Also the bag at the end could have done with something edible in it!

In short: City centre & Eccleshall Road great, not enough loos!
In full: The stadium start/finish was excellent, and I guess the price you pay is 6 miles in total of slig down industrial roads to/from the city centre. Support lacking until Hilton hotel at 3 miles, and petered out again between centre and Eckeshall road- but the atmosphere there was amazing, best I have ever seen on a city race. No stalls to buy gel bars and last minute stuff, which I had forgotten for once, and definitely needs banks of portaloos.

In short: The heat took its toll, poor support for most of the route, its not flat either !!
In full: I have done this one before so I knew there were some hills, but the heat really affected me. The atmosphere at the start at The Don Valley was great, it was a bit tricky getting around the stadium due to lots of barriers, but we parked up easily and arrived with time to spare. The start was delayed due to latecomers which was not good given the heat. The route isn't pretty with a lot of stretches where there isn't much to look at and very little support, it certainly doesn't show the best of Sheffield. The best bit is the run up and back down Eccleshaw Road, with deafening support and .. at last .. a band. For a city with such a rich music history the lack of music around the course is almost criminal. After 10 miles its a horrible slog back to the stadium with only a few souls cheering, but thanks to them for their support. However I dont want everyone telling me I'm nearly done when there are still 3 miles to go..
As usual there were only massive T shirts left (I'm a size 8)but it is unacceptable to run out of goody bags, the organisers know how many runners to expect and there should be enough for everyone, yes even the slow people at the back have worked hard, I have to say that reduced me to tears as I was sore, hot & tired, and no treats to snack on .. thanks I wont be back.

In short: Too many participants......?
In full: I was worried about the "unlimited" entry limit this year, as the previous 5k limit to me already stretched the facilities to the limit. Great course as always and plenty of support - I just don't think the Don Valley Stadium and surrounding road / tram network can handle that many people attending. Nice medal!

In short: Not as hilly as I thought!
In full: Awesome support in places. Industrial areas were quite depressing and demoralising. Not as hilly as I was led to believe but definitely not flat.
Trouble getting to the loo beforehand, was nowhere near enough toilets. Also seemed endless barriers cutting off access to the start.
I arrived at 8.30 as the traffic was also quite bad I ended up leaving my car at Centertainment and walking down (regretted the walk back!)
Water stations good placement, found it tricky drinking from a cup so tipped it over my head. Sponges were handy as well.
All in all an enjoyable first half marathon for me!

In short: Great atmosphere on Ecclesall Road - but poor facilities management
In full: FIrst half. Why were there taped off areas before the race where runners needed to go back and forth between ? Also there was a lack of loo facilities for so many people. Maybe they should have stuck to the original 5k entry limit, was glad I wasn't a lady tbh.
