A big thank you to all the marshals and everyone else involved in the organisation of his race.
A special thank you to Dame Kelly Holmes who waited to give out a medal to every runner...a true legend.
Can't wait for next year!!! Date of review: September 5, 2011

In short: Once more, an excellent event In full: Makes you feel so lucky to live near such a lovely part of the country. Ran the first 5k like Mo Farah! The second 5k like I was mowing the lawn! The hills are not our friend they are evil! Thanks for all the support-"we love marmite" really does spur you on. Date of review: September 5, 2011

In short: Worth the long journey to get there In full: I would normally be helping run my clubs own marathon today, so have missed this race for a number of years. So having done my bit for my club on saturday this year, i had the opportunity to finally make it to Weald, and very pleased i am to, great organisation, lovely village atmosphere and the medal from Dame Kelly certainly made up for the discomfort of the last 3km of hills. Yes its a challenging 10K but would still recommend it to any level of runner. The local vicar in her Nikes did bring out a smile. Date of review: September 4, 2011

In short: Very well organised and a very pleasent and challenging race. In full: This was my first year at this event.
I found the whole event very well organised and all of the marshalls did a good job and were very friendly and helpful.
The route was very nice and scenic but challenging, especially the final hill just after 9k.
It was nice to finish the race and be presented my great looking medal by Dame Kelly Holmes!!
I would recommend this race to anyone and I will be entering again next year!!! Date of review: September 4, 2011

In short: Fabulous race: with great organisation, a wonderful atmosphere and Dame Kelly! In full: The first 5K is relatively easy but then the really hard work begins as the hills seem to get steeper each year! I actually walked up part of that last hill to the finish line :-( Overall it is such a great race and well worth the effort. Thank you to all the organisers and marshalls. So lovely to have Dame Kelly presenting the nice medals! She is very generous with her time and so pleasant and patient with everyone who wanted a photo with her (including me!). In short: Well-organised and friendly chip-timed 10K through rural Kent ... and Dame Kelly! In full: This really is a gem and it's a shame the dodgy forecast last night probably put off some of the on-the-day entrants as the weather was perfect. Easy car-parking and a short stroll to the picture postcard village green where you got a real sense of this being a local red letter day. Registration, bag deposit and loos were in the village school, with chip registration on the green.
The race started on time and, although a little bunched for the first kilometre, was soon relatively congestion-free. Only a couple of cars were encountered on the lanes and because of the excellent marshalling, these crept along shame-facedly.
It is a pretty undulating course and I struggled to run an even pace but the lovely vibe would more than compensate for beginners. The hill in the final kilometre was pretty steep but thankfully not too long and there was loads of support in the home straight to the finishing line on the village green.
It was a lovely surprise to have local celebrity Dame Kelly Holmes put the medal around my and every runner's neck. She had been mingling happily on the green beforehand and started the race, but to have her award everyone their medal was really special. In fact, she broke away from the presentation to dash over to the finishing line to ensure she was there to present the last few finishers with their medals too.
Kudos to her, the organisers and the Weald villagers for making this such a fantastic event. Date of review: September 4, 2011
