In short: Definite PB potential, and a surprisingly pleasant run
In full: Thought I would give this race a go as it could be one I use on a regular basis to check my progress. Had also heard the goodie bag is very good!

When I arrived I was afraid this could be the most boring race ever, three laps of a racing circuit..hmm..

In the end it was a pleasantly surprising run, nice to be free of traffic and fumes for a change. Was cruising for the first 6-7k and can't understand why I didn't get a PB, I guess the extreme heat must have put paid to that.

The goodie bag was nice and value for money but not quite what I was expecting. I have to say I have never seen "official finisher" t-shirts being given out before the race has started!

Organisation was top notch, directions to the race could have been better, but I liked the way we were given clear instructions during the briefing.

Good mix of runners, I made a point of staying to clap the slower runners over the line. It would be boring if we all ran a 40-minute 10k!

Won't be back in November as it clashes with the Downton half (one of my favourites) but fully intend to do this one again.

In short: Very well organised. Definate PB potential ( apart from today it was hot enough to cook eggs on the track) Only slight downside was lack of support at top of circuit. Well be back for the race later this year

In short: Glad I made the trip for this one
In full: I wasn't sure what to expect from this as my Dad and I only entered it a couple of weeks ago in preparation for the Great North Run but I was plesantly surprised.

My Dad and I are not from the area and fully expected a sort of port a loo; one man and his dog type thing but this was better organised than the Althorp 10k we did in October last year (and we didn't have a goodie bag then either).

Would definitely recommend this type of run to any beginner, don't be put off by the "elite" runners, just keep out of their way and they won't hurt you.

It's mainly flat, exhaust fume free and if we hadn't both had colds only a week ago would have been odds on for a PB.

In short: Very good circuit....
In full: Ok so its three laps of a race circuit but atleast its fairly level, I guess a PB would be a possibilty if it wasnt baking hot sunshine, but it was a great race well organised and great atmosphere....give it a go..

In short: Loved doing 3 laps - despite awful weather
In full: 3 laps a good thing. You know where you're going and the km markers made it even better. Weather definitely added interest. On a nice day this course could be a bit dull.

In short: Excellent organisation but atrocious weather highlighted the fact that running 3 times round a flat circuit is actually pretty dull.
In full: On one level it's difficult to fault this race. The organisation was spot on - great facilities, loads of parking and an interesting goodie bag (T-shirt, water bottle, energy drinks, chocolate bar...) However, personally speaking I found running round a featureless circuit didn't do anything for me - not much to think about apart from the driving rain and freezing cold. Pitty that the weather meant that so many people decided to stay away. All that said it's pretty much a guaranteed PB...

In short: PB despite rain and wind (
In full: Organisation great and I felt sorry for the marshalls on the water station even though they had coats on! Names printed on numbers was good idea (although most ink washed off during race :-) ). Could have had triathlon afterwards with bog snorkelling through the fields! Really friendly.
