In short: Best it's been! In full: This race is getting better and better; I experienced no problems at all from start to finish - parked in seconds then ran an excellent race, which was well organised and supported; the finish area has expanded and works well nowadays, I too couldn't find a chip bin but it's not a big problem to wait two minutes before you meet someone who takes it off you. Really enjoyed this; both my wife and I ran it and it was very smooth. A big well done to the organisers! Date of review: March 26, 2012

In short: better but not great organisation, fast flat pb course. In full: Parking wise you probably need to get there early, then it was ok. Didn't have a bag which sounds like a smart move. Where were the chip bins? wandered around with mine and another runners and couldn't see any bin, eventually got directed to a young woman with a bucket! I love the course, it's supa fast as far as I'm concerned. The castle finish has an appeal but the cobbles hurt me and I agree with the calls for late distance markers. Two or three markers between 9km mark and the finish please. Well done to Ed Applewhite too. we talked before the start and I reckon must have ran the whole way together. Hope you are pleased with your time, you must haved finished strong. Congrats to you and best of luck with future races. I'll be back next year I hope! Date of review: March 25, 2012

In short: Great atmosphere, great race, parking a nightmare! In full: I love the Lincoln 10k, flat and fast and great spectator support. Parking a mare though, rds closed and no directions...I had to jump out and my husband went to park so I was a miffed they didnt see me off at the start. Make sure the carpark is well signposted next time!!! Date of review: March 25, 2012

In short: Beginners' big city race In full: It's my local, so I support this race, and it's getting better! Big field (5500 announced at the start, though only 4300 finished!), generally flat, fast and usually well supported, though today most of the crowd seemed to be the people I knew! The medal is FANTASTIC, big brass bling, shaped showing the cathedral, castle and red arrows, and with a 1 1/2 inch thick full coloured ribbon! Goody bag otherwise a bit empty, though the cotton t-shirt was free this year. Could have done with some choc, crisps and juice? The route is good, but as I run part of it most days I couldn't argue really. Would be nice to have 400m and 200m to go signs for the clock chasers! Date of review: March 25, 2012

In short: Great race for everybody In full: This is a good choice for all kinds of runners from elite to beginners. The course is fast - definite PB potential compared to other 10ks. Much more support on the route compared to last time I did it (2009) which is fab, seemed to be even better organised overall. Agree slight concern with the baggage collection area (not particularly secure). All in all, very good, and great for your spectators too! Date of review: March 25, 2012

In short: A well organised race that has grown in size. In full: This is a good race with the finishing kilometre going past the cathedral and in to the ground s of the castle. There's always a massive crowd of people around there to cheer you on for the last few hundred metres. The council have sorted out the organisation problems of previous years, so it went very well. The only very minor criticisms that I have is that the entry fee is expensive at £18 and the baggage area at the finish was not very secure, as nobody was supervising it. Anyone could have taken anyone elses bag. But apart from that, very good. Date of review: March 25, 2012

In short: A real pb course, wide roads, flat as a pancake route and great support throughout. Parking was a total nightmare. In full: I arrived in plenty of time as bumf advised but was met with blocked roads and extremely unhelpful, at times rude, police traffic operatives!!!!. No signs directing me anywhere and had to jump out of the car and ask passers by for help. NOT GOOD!!! The race itself was a ball, loved the flat course and wide roads, no excuses if you don't run a fast time here. On finishing I waited to meet my family in the race village, but after waiting for 20 minutes went looking for them. Turns out they'd been refused access to the village.....um??? Not good!!! Then dogmatic marshalls wouldn't let us cross route, despite the fact that it was 90 minutes after the race start and then remained only the odd tail ender (absolute respect to you) still on route. Overall I loved the race but hated the organisation (or lack of) it. Date of review: May 10, 2011
