In short: Can we have chip times on the website results page please ?
In full: Like many others I had to start about 4 mins after everyone else so my gun time is far from a real reflection of the effort I put in !

In full: The Ashford and District 10k 2013 was an absolute joke!! It started 5 mins early so about 100 people missed the start including me. After literally barging through the field to finish 4th on chip times, they put the gun times on the results. The funny thing is this race is organised by a private company that are meant to experts at organising races.

In short: Great course, shame about the start
In full: Directions to the car parks were good and there was plenty of parking - bit of a walk to the start though, but good for a warm-up! The race HQ was a bit manic and it wasn't clear where the chips were or where the bag drop was - however we found some helpful runners who pointed us in the right direction.

The race was late starting, and it was another walk to the start, which was on a narrow lane. We didn't even see the timing pens so were stuck at the back; when the race eventually did start it was tricky weaving through the slower runners while avoiding potholes and gutters. The usual frustrations of trying to get past groups running 3 abreast on a narrow lane soon appeared - a bit of consideration for your fellow runners would be appreciated, especially if you're not fast or taking it too seriously!

However it began to thin out after about 2km and you could relax into the run - which was mostly flat and downhill with 1 gentle and one slightly more taxing hill at 7km. The last 1.5km was downhill and you could see the finish from the road which spurred me on.

I managed a PB but my Garmin had only registered 9.92km, and I noticed that my provisional time on the Nice Work site was over a minute slower than I clocked - as was that of my running companions - what's happened there???

Finish was good, lovely medal but I totally missed the water and chocolate!

Thanks to all of the supporters and volunteers who must have surely been freezing.

In short: Poor organisation.
In full: Arrived at the venue , poor direction to the parking, which was quite far away. 10-15 minute walk to venue. Venue poorly organised. No indication where to get timming chip, walked through busy club house with many others looking for chip timming only to find it on a muddy field. Long Q's.

Start was 10 minutes up the road. Race stared ten minutes late.

Route ok, nice views.

Finish on mud bath field!

Medal ok, no goodie bag.

Totally recked my £150 trainers!

Ok, but would not do again. Needs better organisation in future.

In short: Delayed start that wasn't delayed?...
In full: Loved the race.

Though the complete mess up at the start was unforgiveable. Announcing a delayed start until 11:10, then letting the race go at 11:05 is beyond ridiculous. Missed the start by 2 full minutes which left me running past people for 20 minutes as politely as possible.

Lovely course, challenging yet fast, but almost ruined by that one silly announcement.

In short: Still a good 'un
In full: Back for a second time. A favourite race for me. Well organised, nice course, well supported.

Perfect running conditions - about 3 degrees by start time.

Again had the goodies at the finish line - kit kats, jaffa cakes and energy bars. Medal not as nice as last year's.

Will be back!

In full: An excellent race. Very well organised, through some beautiful countryside, and everyone seems friendly. Oh, a nice medal at the end too!

In short: Good once we got started....
In full: Plenty of car parking, with a 10 min walk to the start no problem. Collected our timing chips quickly and the bag drop off area in the clubhouse was very efficient even though everyone seemed to be sheltering from the cold and making it very congesteed. We then had another 10 min walk to the start. Stood trying to keep warm, while we were informed of a 10 minute delay. The race was run on narrow country lanes and after the first 2k or so there was sufficient space to run freely. General organisation was very good, plenty of marshalls at important locations and many of them and the spectators cheering the runners on. One water station at the 5k mark. Nice medal collected without delay at the end of the race, and there was further water and jaffa cakes, biscuits etc for all finishers. I would say the only downside was the very congested start which probably caused many runners to miss out on the opportunity of a pb which is a shame as its a relatively flat course with just a few inclines up and down (and a fair size incline at the 7k marker - nice to see St Johns Ambulance providing support)
