In short: A fantastic event, great course, great atmosphere. Quite tough though
In full: Loved this race, the organisation and the atmosphere were brilliant. Some very friendly encouraging marshalls and other runners. The hills were quite tough though, not especially big hills but long ones. The off road section was brilliant if you could avoid all the slippy stuff!! Was disappointed with my time as a personal worst for a half marathon so far this year but that will make me come back next year. Loved the mug too and plenty to do at the show to keep families busy whilst the race was on. EXCELLENT

In short: Great scenery, a lovely run with killer hills throughout
In full: My first time running this race - after doing the Sheffield and Leeds Halfs this year and the Great North Run before, this was very different. I can't fault anything about the race. The organisation was good, there were marshalls where there needed to be to tell you where to go and plenty of water and sponges. It was strange to run on roads with hardly any traffic and the runners very spread out, a bit like a training run really in that you were very much on your own. The course is challenging to say the least, a nice steady opening to just after 3 miles, then a steep incline up to about 7 where you go off road and down a slippy path through woods and fields to about 8.5. There's a steep hill at 9, then the last, killer hill from about 11 to 12, with a nice downhill after that straight into the show ground for the finish. All in all there's enough scenery to keep you occupied for the 13 miles to take your mind off the hills you go up, will be back in 2010.

In short: Good event, nice scenary, really enjoyed it
In full: It was a well organised event as part of the local country show. A tough climb towards the end. A mix of road, trail and grass made it varied and made it an interesting run. Scenary was great, lot of water/sponge stations which were very welcome.

In short: Great stuff!!
In full: 1st time I'd done this race and will definitely be back. Although it's tough (11-12 mile hill esp.) it makes up for it in varied terrain and a screaming finish. The beer tent and burger stall at the end helped too ;-)

In short: Excellent
In full: My first run on across the Yorkshire Wolds and loved it. A good few long hills to test you, especially the last climb at about 12 miles, some steep downhills, a grass section and great scenery. Well organised drinks and refreshments and a nice souvenir mug and parking well organised. Shame there wasn't more on-course support but thats just nit-picking. Will be back next year.

In short: Fantastic: I loved it.
In full: I thought this was a brilliant half. What it lacked in speed potential, it more than made up for in scenery. Who wants to whip round a course as stunning as this??
I really loved the 2 mile off road section. It broke the race up into managable chunks and it was simply beautiful, even if my trainers ended up stinking of sheep dung!
Whilst the climbs were fairly long, they were not steep, although that last ascent between miles 11 and 12 felt a bit gruelling. Loved the downhill sprint at the end though, almost made up for it.
Plenty of water/sponge stations and a nice mug as a memento. I would rank his as one of my favourite races.

In short: Wow
In full: My second half, and first really hilly race at any distance, and first with major off-road bits, so was hoping for around PB + 10 mins - amazed therefore with my (unofficial) time of PB + 26 secs!
I'd give it more for beginner-friendliness were it not for the challenging nature of the course.
Only gripe was arriving at the first water station before the water - and could really have used it at the top of that first steep climb!
Overall, really enjoyed it, even the somewhat changeable weather - was it just me, or was it always raining when coming downhill and blazing hot going up?
See you next year.
