In short: It's pretty much been said but... In full: Even as i was running round I was thinking 'why wasn't the British 10k like this?'. Really enjoyed the fact that it was well organised (had someone to hold my bag so no hassle queueing). Not too busy for runners and spectators and plenty of water, lucozade and flags for the kiddies.
My couch potato partner even said she might do it next year! thats how good it was! Date of review: July 15, 2007

In short: 48:10 to get my bag! In full: Excellent phased start and a good day out thanks. Looking forward to next year.

In short: brilliant. In full: really enjoyed it. nice lucozade and water freebies b4 the start, although your next water stop was at about 5k! no probs at the start due to previous time gradings.A lovely nice flat, course. it prob showed how the british 10k should be done. one prob was the bag pick up at the end, and it's not the bag teams fault. I got there early on at the end and still waited ages for them to find my bag as there was a hill of bags: and mine was at the bottom of the pile, perhaps better if i got there later? still. he, ho, i really enjoyed it. will def do it next year. In short: Much better organised tha nthe british 10KM In full: Having done the British 10KM and been super critical of the organisation. I can only praise it here.
Racers were nicely staggered, plenty of warm up space, lots of involvement from organisers, being timed helped ...and I am happy cos I did a PB, but def consider doing the race next year Date of review: July 15, 2007

In short: Excellent organisation, great PB potential and in the middle of one of London's great parks. In full: A definite recommended race for runners of all levels.
Excellent organisation and good atmosphere all the way round. Very scenic too, well it has to be through Hyde Park, with of course a great chance to relax around the park afterwards.
Pretty much level all the way with just a couple of little gradients over the lake
PB achieved today so well pleased. Oh and a great goodie bag at the end all helps! Date of review: July 15, 2007

In short: Well organised, good goodie bag, good course marking and quickly across the start lie. In full: This is my first "mass participation" race, i.e. first with a crowd over 2000. I was expecting a nightmare to even get across the start line, but due to "seeded" waves I had no problems. The course was well signposted and I liked the design, especially the shower! The goodie bag wasn't too bad either, as was Myleene Klass with the starting hooter. Considering there was only one small public road to close, the entry fee was a bit too steep, especially as non of the fee itself included a donation - maybe skip the T-shirt in the goodie bag to save costs. But I suppose these mass events are always in this price range. Glad I missed the scrum for baggage at the end. Overall, much better than I expected, and I'll probably continue to mix these kinds of events in with club-organised ones. Date of review: July 15, 2007

In short: Help yourself to the baggages!!! In full: Good event, great medal... but...
- baggage situation was appalling. I'm not complaining about the huge queues, that's to be expected. But the security was non-existent. The baggage area was swamped with runners helping themselves to all of bags.
- The people who were walking were forcing runners from behind to slow down. There should be a late start for everyone who intends to walk - the organisers should consider this for next year.

In short: Good day out In full: This is a well organised, timed, fast run to participate in. It's friendly to all standards thanks to the staggered starts and with all the space Hyde Park has to offer the facilities were very good.
The only negative I would have was the baggage collection at the end but I was lucky in that I finished ahead of the others in my baggage pen so could pass by the other horrible queues to collect my bag without a problem. It's the only point I would hold the organisers up on and I'm sure they will have it fixed for next year.
Having done the British 10k two weeks ago, there was simply no comparison. Here you could see where your money was going to, baggage issues aside everything you needed was there. Also, the t-shirts are great and the medal chunky.
Well done to the organisers, hopefully will be back next year.
P.S. please give the British 10k some pointers. Date of review: July 15, 2007

In short: Well organised - except for the queues In full: This was a well organised race except for the queues for the baggage drop and the loos. A really nice location and great atmosphere. I would definitely do this again. Date of review: July 15, 2007

In short: Great run for beginner's or those not too desperate to achieve personal bests. The location is superb and the organisation was overall fairly good. I'll be back! Date of review: July 15, 2007
