In short: Pretty place, but mud a little slowing, and few landmarks just pretty canal bridges. Date of review: November 8, 2009

In short: Wet, muddy and slippy but enjoyable In full: Wet, muddy and slippy but enjoyable race. 2nd time for me so expected conditions to be bad - its just that time of year. Cowley to Watford is slightly harder but its really the mud that is energy sapping as I was skating in places. Organisation was fine and the marshal's friendly - all apart from the bag drop which was a shambles. You really can't leave runners on a damp winters day standing around for 30 minutes getting cold whilst waiting for the van to turn up. Big black mark - but we're a forgiving bunch. In short: Used it as a training run and really enjoyed it In full: A bit bunched at the beginning of the canal, but otherwise a really lovely race. We parked at the finish and the buses to the start etc were really well organised. The tow paths were a bit muddier than I had expected and slippery in places, but all added to the fun. Not sure I liked the hill right at the end though! A great run and would definitely do it again. Date of review: November 8, 2009

In short: Great route but slippery In full: A great route along the canal - flat but with some tricky slopes up to the locks and bridges. The rain and leaves did mean it was slippery, but not too uneven.
Short of toilets at the start, and the baggage van was a bit of a disaster - long wait at the start, and did not turn up at the finish until c. 2 hours Date of review: November 8, 2009

In short: A good flattish course with good Marshall's and a nice atmosphere In full: PB's would be very possible if you were near the front and there hadn't been rain for a while! A bit slippy in places this year.
There needs to be more toilets at the start -about twice as many. Several of us nearly missed the start!
The Uxbridge to Watford route is a better way round in my view-despite the walk from the station at the start.
Generally a good race with good Marshall's and a good atmosphere. I'll be back. (Shame about the baggage bus nut that wasn't the race organisers fault)! Date of review: November 8, 2009

In short: Good Race - friendly atmosphere In full: Enjoyable race along the canal for most of the route. Tough incline at the end, but only because it was the last mile. Great comaraderie at the end between the runners.
Only real issue was that the baggage van took 2 hours to get from Uxbridge to Watford leaving us standing around in the cold. Lucky the weather wasn't too bad. Date of review: November 8, 2009
