In short: Well organised big race, really enjoyed.
In full: Thought the race was really well organised; good route, good bag storage, didn't have to queue too long for for the loo (if you picked the right queue) and the funnel system at the end was good as it kept you moving once over the finish line.

Expensive to enter but appreciated the good quality T-shirt and medal. Could have done with splitting the start up a bit more by expected finish time as it's quite a narrow course and even though I started in the right pen it was sometimes difficult to pass people who were running more slowly. Could affect the potential for a PB.

Would definitely do it again.

In short: Fast out and back with good support
In full: I ran it hard and was pleased to beat my 2009 time by a minute. Faded a bit during kilometres 8-9, but was uplifted by jazz band opposite the Shakespeare. Thanks to all marshalls and spectators. The race is very well organised and, unlike Bath, has the space to do so.

In full: the tech t-shirt was worth a tenner alone - no complaints about the marshalls - they are only responsible for the spot they are stood on and cant be expected to know much else . the race guide book told you everything you needed to know and more , read it next time . just one small change , the water stations should be at 3k and 7k , not just one at 5k .

In short: First 10k race, enjoyable and made me hungry for more
In full: I have heard other 10ks are a lot cheaper but have no experience of this. First Marshall I asked a question to didnt have a clue so that could definitely be improved on. V busy field but i knew this before running so no complaints. Goodybag I had contained a wet wipe, half a magazine, a shopping brochure and a sweatband!? Is that normal? Local though so will be back next year fo sho

In short: too crowded, amateur marshalling for such a big race
In full: First the good, great venue, better goody bag than before.

The bad - way too crowded, poor signposting for the pens and far too few toilets. The marshalls weren't aequately trained, one managed to shut the whole road down because he was talking to a girl on a bike. Another took 25 mins to allow finishers to "escape" from the inner racing circle to cross the road. Doesn't sound too bad but when you're shivering after a race it's not funny!

More signage at the start please and train your marshals, try using some runners at crucial points!

In short: A consistently well organised race year on year and 2011 was no different, a fast course and still good value.
