In short: Great run
In full: A friendly race with plenty of undulations to make you feel like you've worked hard. Really well organised and a plentiful goody bag!

In short: Great introduction to trail running
In full: My first 10k (on or off road).

I had been a bit worried about the organisation when my race number came in the post with information about the Forest of Dean race. Then the replacement version e-mailed still had FoD car parking information in it.

No problems on the night though. As noted in other reviews, the bunching on the climb of Old Pale kept the pace down (which removed my worries about going off too fast) but it soon spread out coming off the hill and through the forest. I loved the twisty singletrack sections, many of which I've ridden on my MTB in the past.

No t-shirt in the goodie bag though - boo hiss. Will be back next year though

In short: Testing hill to start then a nice run through the forest. A nice evening run.
In full: No complaints really. The course was well marked out although I didn't see very many marshals. Nice goodybag but for 13 quid I would expect a nice T-Shirt.
A good run though.

In short: Great undulating trail run with lovely scenery
In full: A very well organised race taking in some lovely single track and a few wider forest tracks. Plenty of parking, good facilities with a decent goodie bag (although I thought solomon could throw in a tee-shirt) not too overcrowded either.

In short: Really good race, excellent organisation, great place to run. A little crowded at the start which meant a slow 1st km, but fine after that. Good goody bag too.h

In short: My first trail run, excellent choice!
In full: What a way to spend an evening, beautiful scenery, exciting course. Agree with other reviews, I've only been running since January but, this is definitely doable for a beginner.

In short: Great trail run with a bit of a challenge!
In full: Lovely scenery in my "home territory." The initial hill creates quite a challenge - but is do-able. The rest of the race takes place on forest trails which undulate nicely, with the odd short hard bit thrown in.

Quite pricey for a 10K, but well organised with a decent goody bag, so not too terrible.

Only slight critisism is the start is crowded on a narrow track, so very hard to overtake for the frst 1/2 mile - wherever you are before the start is where you're stuck. Could do with starting the race in more open ground to allow people to filter before the hill, or starting people according to predicted time.

Still, overall, top stuff!
