In short: Not a bad early year half
In full: Bit of a mud bath at mile 2, not sure on the off road bit. Detracts from the time. Scenery is okay, typical fields. Organisation was good, marshalls very supportive and provided jelly beans/jelly babies which was good. Water at good places. Goody bag fairly good. Always love a medal though, but for the price, you can see why you don't get one.

In short: Well organised, challenging run
In full: Marshalls very enthusiastic, very well organised and some nice scenic views on the course - the chip timing was an added bonus - the off-road section was unfortunately as treacherous and muddy as last year and it'd be nice to have a technical t-shirt.

In short: Good course, well organised & good value
In full: The off road section was great, but it did slow you down, so not good if you were after a quick time.

In short: Well organised and great marshals!!
In full: This was my first time at this race, I used it as a training run for my marathon, the description stated 'the revised route this year has managed to avoid two-mile green lane section and replace it with just one mile of good quality farm track ' I appreciate the rain affected the surface but found the track very muddy & slippery which made it difficult to run on, for this reason I am not sure that I would enter this race again. But on the positive side I found the race venue excellent, the organisation, marshals and goody bag to be of a very high standard so would not like to put others off, just not a good enough surface should you want to race. I felt sorry for the marshals still out on the course for so long, with the last finishers coming in after 3+ hours, it was freezing cold running so I dread to think how they felt standing around so long, maybe a cut off time should be considered for the sake of the marshals??

In short: Well organised, slighty challenging half made all the better by the muddy bit.

In short: Undulating, enjoyable and welcoming half marathon (with jelly babies!)
In full: This was a great half marathon that was mostly flat, although the shortish hill at mile 12 was hard with tired legs! The marshalling and support was excellent, the jelly babies were a lovely touch thank you. Hot tea and hot showers at the end too - what more could you ask for? Very well organised - well done to Sleaford Striders!

In short: Great rural race. Mix of roads, track and a brilliant muddy bit. Enthusiastic marshalls with jelly babies. Spot on goody bag and a cup of tea. A much improved race from 2008. Well done Sleaford Striders.

In short: slick and well organised race providing good value for money.
In full: whilst the off road section offered a bit of variety, the race would be enhanced by again looking at a totally on-road course. That said, there were lots of enthusiastic marshalls on the course, making the race a worthwhile experience. thank you

In short: Could be a superfast 1/2 if not for the muddy section.
In full: I was a great race. The muddy section was the only downfall. 10m marker was well off as well according to my Garmin. I was very happy with the course 9-13miles though. Slight downhill. Got to strech the legs out.
A great race and a regular in my calender.
Thanks Sleaford Striders.
