In short: You will not smell nice after this one!
In full: Was in last wave and disappointed by the amount of queuing at obstacles from the water onwards. Good camaraderie amongst competitors, needed the leg up over the final wall! km markers suggested it was 12km long.

In short: So much fun!!!!
In full: This race was split into waves, with approx 300 people in each going off at 15 minute intervals from 10am through to 12pm. I opted for the last wave but arrived around 10.15 to give myself plenty of time to register etc. I needn't have worried though as the organisation was very slick. There were plenty of toilets and hardly any queues.
The race itself was awesome, although having been advertised as about 10km I was surprised that the km markers indicated it was nearer 12! So with actual distance maybe a bit approximate and all the obstacles along the way there was no point thinking of PBs. The obstacles certainly made it more testing but they were all achievable even if you weren't superfit of strong. And if you did struggle there were plenty of fellow competitors willing to give you a hand. There were the bales of hay to clamber over just near the start, a mini army obstacle course, water slide into a muddy cold lake, the terraces of Nottingham Forest FC to run up and down and the infamous Wall to finish with to name but a few. Red or white technical T-shirts were given out at the start which you were expected to wear and after crawling through the disgustingly smelly, muddy ditch and drainage tunnel I thought mine would never be white again!! The biggest frustration of the race was the amount of bottlenecks at some of the obstacles, made worse by starting in the last wave - this probably added 20 minutes to my time. Some people just opted to skip them altogether and would have got better times because of it but they were too much fun not to do. To be competitive you really need to be in the earlier (first!!) waves, otherwise it's mainly about enjoyment. And enjoyable it most certainly was. I definitely intend doing it again next year. Finally, the goody bag was excellent - the best I've had at a race.

In short: Second year at Nottingham & enjoyed it so much.
In full: Really good fun though hard work - but what else would you expect. The queues were a pleasent breather but also frustrating, could be easily fixed for next year. Where was the archery this year?!

There were a few nasty injuries but an event like this isn't risk free and as long as it's clearly explained to all that's ok.

In short: Great day in Nottingham
In full: Aside from some queues at the water and city-scape obstacles, the race was a very good one. Well worth the trip up from London -- will be back next year...

In short: An absolutely brilliant race, no doubt about it.
In full: A fantastic race that was hard and challenging in parts but so much fun.

There is nothing really negative to say about the day apart from the waiting times at various stations which was frustrating however the organisation as a whole was brilliant.

I really cant wait until next year so that I can do it all over again.

In short: Real fun for big kids.
In full: Really enjoyed this one, great atmosphere. Friendly competitors and well marshalled. Potential improvements would be to move change the route so the earlier wave runners heading towards Notts Forest's City Ground didin't meet slower runners on the path. There also needs to be some improvements to cut queues at water slide, under armour zone and the urban jungle.

In short: nottingham race- terrible organisation - thanks goodness for the nice scenery
In full: maybe i was just unlucky but everything seemed to go wrong in the organisation department -ie they didnt have my race pack -etc etc etc ...i was in the first wave and some obsticles werent set up - lots of cueing and lots of falls and injuries at least 2 were really looking serious. horrible marshall on the last wall who was really nasty to me cause i struggled jumping off the 3 meter wall - thankfully some nice guys helped me down - but that last marshall was really nasty . i worry about how many folk were injured in this race - even in the first wave the ground was really bad - the later waves had no chance. the course was over 11k too
on the plus side nottingham route is stunning and the goody bags were brill- but i wont be doing this race again
