In short: Nice course, terrible start
In full: Badly organised start with those at the back having to walk and the start line itself not being clear.

In short: A bit dull, mainly due to weather which perhaps impacted support, too. Not much of a scenery, but in places was nice, andit least it wasn't urban.

In short: I've changed my opinion from last year - for the better!
In full: I wasn't going to do this race this year until I found out I'd got a place in the London Marathon. As Wokingham fits perfectly with Reading in the training schedule, there I was, running it in spite of saying I was unlikely to!

But this year I thoroughly enjoyed the race, and I'd now call it one of my favourites! Of course the fact that I improved my PB by 4 minutes had nothing to do with that!

But it is only a 'favourite' because of the route and the medal. Again I found the organisation at the start/finish in need of attention. The maul others have described at the start was not great, and again I didn't like having to fight my way through other finishers and people handing out leaflets at the immediate finish. Who wants to cross a finish line to have to be saying "excuse me, excuse me.." as you fight to find your way to a bit of clear space? It would have been easy to have missed the little lad handing out the medals with all the folk hanging around.

I also think its a bit rich charging for a drink at the end. When most races give out drinks and bananas, we have to queue to buy tea and sandwiches.

Nonetheless: the medal was excellent and a great reflection of the race's 25th anniversary; there seemed to be more spectators this year (in spite of the fact that the weather was much better last year!); and, as last year, the marshalls were great. Oh, and Liz Yelling was running ;)

So, next year? Yeah, I think I'll be back! :)

In short: My home town Half, a tad rainy but good
In full: Set a good time, could have done with more toilets and a bit less mud, and the baggage tent was a little dodgy in terms of staffing, but a great course and good marshalls.
