In short: Good flat course which won't put off a new runner
In full: I guess they must have changed the start as there didn't appear to be any of the problems mentioned in previous years. I would have liked to see a definite start line as I wasn't sure when to start my watch. In the end I think I started it too early!

In short: Flat and Fast
In full: Just turned up and raced this one. Went really well. I got a PB and my fastest WAVA score. So I really enjoyed it. The only thing I would point out is that it is quite congested. I was being held up slightly throughout the race but maybe I should have started higher up the field.

In short: Fast course
In full: Not point moaning about anything because year after year the problems remain the same and the organisers dont seem that interested in making it a better race.

Very fast course though, which is the only reason I keep coming back and probably will again next year.

In short: Definately a PB course, very flat and fast.
In full: Although great PB potential, the start to the race is dissapointing. The walk to the start is a ten minute walk from the car parking and when you get there, it is a battle with the local traffic. The road on which the race starts still alllows traffic through until the very start of the race with all competitors trying to move to one side to let cars through. If the road could be closed ten minutes prior to the start this would be a very good race, that I would recommend to everyone, although I would recommend to PB chasers.

In short: Enough entries now I think....
In full: I have been coming to this race for almost a decade now and this has been the most congested race I have competed in.

Unfortunatly, like 'Devon Lock' I fell at the finish. Two reasons for this:- 1. My competative nature and 2. The amount of marshals and spectators 'on' the finish line! I am pretty sure that depite approx 5 runners being in a sprint finish, we would all have got through the finish line quite comfortably if there were not so many staff members lingering around the finish line. The amount of 'angers on' caused me to break sharply and then slip. Now with various bruised areas including my ego!

Never mind, I suppose I should learn that groupies will be groupies!

Despite my fall, this was always going to be my final Alsager 5, I need new, longer courses to fulfill my needs. Thanks for the memories, good luck to all future Alsager runners.

In short: Quick course - shame about almost everything else.
In full: The start. I probably don't have to say any more than that.

Add to that the lack of toilets (they really should consider getting some portable loos for a race of this size) and the ones that were there were either blocked or out of bounds. Also, it never bothered me before, but have you seen how they get the orange squash of the bins to give you at the end? I would assume they were brand new bins but then you have the chemicals from when they were made at the factory. I passed on the drink this year.

However, that aside, it is a good fast course and the support from the Alsager lot was very good, with people lining most of the course. The police did a good job of controlling the traffic to keep the runners safe

I hope the guy who was lying on the floor at 2.5 miles was ok.

Got some free tea-bags, although I am not keen on that brand. T-shirt is the same as every year, wont bother reviewing that.

I'll probably be back next year to have a go at a sub 35 (new PB 36.11).
