In short: Tough race, but great fun!
In full: Overall a fantastic day out. Generally great organisation but I agree with other posters that runners late to the start line should join from the back, not from near the front. It can be difficult to overtake if you are behind lots of slower runners.

Great fun to be had scrambling up and down almost vertical hills, then splashing/wading through endless water. I thought my legs were going to burst when I finally got out of the swamp! The cold and smell really wakes you up.

Then just when I thought it was all over and you could hear the announcer at the finish, I turned the corner to be confronted with sand dunes for as far as I could see. You just have to laugh!

In short: I never knew there were so many hills!
In full: Having completed grim last year. I decided to give this one a shot. It was as good if not better. A well organised and excellent event. One I will travel 89 miles again for!!

In short: What a crack! Top banana event!
In full: Tough course, lots of hills, loads of mud, but loads of smiles and wisecracks from other runners. My favourite was "I didnt want to join the army anyway". Will be back next year,

In short: Most challenging run I have ever done, but just fantastic!! Cant wait to go again next year.
In full: My first full off-road run, but certainly not the last. The organisation was fantastic and the course very tough, particlary the waist deep water/mud wetlands, followed by numerous sand hills to finnish! Everyone ended with a smile, can't wait for next year.

In short: Very hilly & very muddy!
In full: Excellent event, the hills and the water take your mind off the distance you're actually doing. Was great fun, and the lack of distance markers added to the excitement because you had no idea what was left to come. Turning the corner towards the end and seeing all the sand dunes was a killer!

Can't wait till next year!!!
