In short: my second marathon with Trionium and again tough run but very good!
In full: Tough run, not much easier than likes of BHM I think, but great organisation, good atmosphere and really nice touches - good medal, mug, best t-shirt I think that I've had, free tea before and cooked breakfast after, swim I believe (personally I'd spent enough time in water with all those puddles on course!), well stocked drink stations, etc. Really good - well done to Rob and his team!

In short: Think very tough. And then double it. Beautiful though.
In full: I did the Leith Hill 1/2 in March and the Greensands just goes to prove that a full marathon is much more than twice as tough as a half. Brutal and beautiful.

In short: More marshals needed
In full: They needed more marshals at path junctions, or more efficient route marking. Too much potential for wrong turnings, and delays due to not recognising an at-times complicated off-road route. This being said, still a great experience, even though the stunning scenery was obscured by fog on the day.

In short: SUPERB!
In full: Firstly, a HUGE WELL DONE to Robert McCaffrey and all his wonderful helpers for staging such a first-class event! Everything was absolutely perfect, from the hospitality & welcome, to the organisation, from the magnificent but very tough course to the brilliant finishers mementoes.
Unfortunately, I took a wrong turning (MY fault), adding 4 mins to my time trying to get to the top of Leith Hill before the 1:12 hrs cut-off time. Sadly, it wasn't to be. While I was disappointed about that, however, if I am honest I don't think that I would have been able to complete the full distance. Despite all of that, I still thoroughly enjoyed the course and scenery of the half-marathon. All going well, I shall return to the Leith Hill half-marathon next year. Tough, yes, but well worth the effort.
