In short: Stunning
In full: Scenery is stunning. Quite tough if you're used to roads / paths as the majority is on grass. Music from the African drummers at the start, 5 miles, 8 miles and the end was really uplifting. I'll definitely be back next year.

In short: superb off road race with the friendliest/craziest/happiest marshalls I have ever encountered
In full: A super off-road race in glorious sunshine in glorious countryside. Purple Patch don't half organise some cracking off road races. You'll never record personal bests but you will go home a happier person than when you arrived. The marshalls all seemed to be in happy/clappy land (uplifting for runners) while the band at five miles and half way were super. Great day out by the Thames - and all for a good cause.

In full: This was my first half marathon. Found the course quite tough and glad I was wearing trail shoes! All in all enjoyed the experience and will be back again. Thought the organisation was good, scenery absolutely beautiful and mashalls very encouraging. Might be a small race but even for first timer felt it was very welcoming.

In short: Beautiful course, great weather - a great event
In full: A well organised route through stunning countryside. Various gates and soft conditions underfoot meant that this was never going to be a PB occasion, but the scenery and friendly marshals more than made up. Facilities both pre and post race were excellent.

Only jarring note was the officious Bisham Abbey employee who told my wife in no uncertain terms that our dog was not allowed on the premises and would have to leave. This was despite minimal signage and the fact that they had been on site for 2 hours before being hustled out and missing the finish. This was a Bisham Abbey employee rather than any race official, who were excellent - someone should have a word.

In short: Gorgeous, friendly and very enjoyable half.
In full: Not a fast course as it's offroad, muddy in places and with gates to negotiate but beautiful scenery, lovely atmosphere and great marshalls. There should be more races like this one.
