In short: Brilliant!! Great scenery, varied forest trail with some testing short uphills and moderately technical parts. Laps were great to learn the course and multi distances ideal for first time trail runners. Very well organised, highly recommende Date of review: June 29, 2009
In short: Tough race but very enjoyable, especially when you've finished! In full: A couple of killer near vertical hills in the first half of the circuit but easier after that. Definitely not for anyone hoping for a PB but a challenging and enjoyable race. Date of review: June 28, 2009
In short: Just Awesome In full: This was my first off road 10k so did not know what to expect. However, it was very challenging and makes road running feel easy. The organisation was very good, the course was amazing with hills you will never have considered running up before and cool trails through the country park, you will have to dodge the trees run through the mud it was ace.
I would defiantly recommend this race but it is not for the faint hearted and would be a very tough for a first timer. Hhowever, different and very good fun.
In short: Incredibly friendly and warm organisation team. Great commentary throughout and a lovely setting. In full: The JustRacingUK team that put this together are pretty experienced and frankly do all of their races with a view to make sure that everyone has a great day out. Wonderful. In short: Fun run in the snow In full: Did the first one of these 3 weeks ago - the course is great, a couple of hills to get up but bizarrely easier to do the big one in snow rather than mud. Massive thank you to the organisers who made this work today, when you consider the circumstances (the whole race was snow covered) this really took some doing. Hard work, but rewarding. In short: Fun In The Mud. In full: This is my first entry in this race and it was one of the most enjoyable races I have done.
I opted for the 15k and even though it was 3 x laps, it wasn't a tedious course. There are some great hills (up and down), plenty of mud, rough trails and lovely scenery.
I'll be back in a couple of weeks for round two to try and beat my times.
This race is also good for beginners who want to try something a little different. The crowd are very welcoming and having three distances, 5, 10 and 15k means there is something for everyone. Date of review: January 19, 2009
