In short: Great rural race, with huge PB poential In full: This race was very well orgnised for a first time event, with a good venue for HQ, and a lovely route taking in 13 miles of country lanes, passing through occasional villages. Only slight gripes were delays when parking (but at least I wasn't on the grass) and just 2 water stations (which could have used a 200m warning sign). Otherwise, a top event, and I'll definately be back for next year. Date of review: March 7, 2011
In short: Inaugural running of the Droitwich Half on a scenic course with definite PB potential In full: Apart from some car parking issues, which will no doubt be sorted for next year, Droitwich AC's inaugural running of their half marathon went very well. The course is all tarmac, apart from 50 metres of mud to by-pass the ford over a river, and very fast with no hills to speak of. Plenty of marshalls where they were needed, all of whom were very supportive, decent goody bag including a sandwich voucher and T-shirt. Well done Droitwich - see you next year. In short: ++Beautiful rural half with real PB potential++ In full: A real runners race this one! Organisation at the Golf Club could have been a little better - car parking was a little difficult at times. A challenging race for the 'support crew' (!) as they thought their £14 breakfast fee a little steep! However, the race itself (the important bit!) was lovely. Great rural scenery down small country lanes and roads with no monster hills to speak of. Seemed like a lot of club vests in evidence but still managed to have a bit of banter round the course. Well done Droitwich AC on a great first outing and I definitely look forward to this race next year. Many thanks.
In short: Course and race fantastic, especially sandwich voucher, bit more organisation at Gaudet luce would make it perfect In full: Excellent course and race, perfect for a pb. Traffic / parking was well marshalled, only minor comment is that spectators were not given clear info on where to stand and ended up waiting behind the finish. I hope it becomes a regular event, well done droitwich Date of review: March 6, 2011
In short: Excellent - really enjoyed this on a sunny Sunday! In full: Great first time out, well done & thanks to all those involved. Course is great, good work out with plenty of undulations but nothing to stop you shooting for a PB, missed a new one by about a minute, but hey it was a good day out for all and really enjoyable. Cheers Droitwich AC, I'll be back again, definately one to run if you like a proper running race in charming rural surroundings. Date of review: March 6, 2011
