In short: What a shambles
In full: Nothing particularly wrong with the race itself except that the first 6k was along a road in an industrial estate. But it was a really half-arsed organisation. First of all we were made to buy bus tickets for £3 to get back to the start but when we got to the bus stop, we were told that the two minibuses yes two, had just gone back and that it would be at least half an hour. Then a bus came along but we were not able to get on it because the driver had done two many hours. None of the staff knew what was going on including the Marshall on the gate who couldn't even tell us where the station was. In the end we got a £12 quid taxi back

In short: Road closures, shuttle buses... Not in this race!
In full: My email to the organisers...

I just want to say how disappointed I am with the organisation of this event today.

I was a late entrant, so paid 35 pounds for my entry, plus 3 pounds for the shuttlebus.

Firstly, the road was not closed off... I had to run around roundabouts with oncoming traffic and was almost hit by a car... TWICE!

When I got to the turning onto the trail just after 5 k, the Marshall (an older gentleman) had his back to me, I shouted to ask where to go and he turned and pointed and said head straight down there. I saw two young girls marshalling stood by cones, ran towards them, and again had to shout 'where am I going'. They indicated that I had missed the turning, and owing to a barrier I had to go back on myself, and the person behind me saw this error and was able to avoid it before it happened to him, losing me about 20 seconds, and morale!

The different events confused things, and made it very difficult on the small trail paths, as I had to stop on a few occasions as people were walking or running very slowly, taking up the whole path, and others did not hear my call to get out of the way as they had headphones in. Being a front runner you would not expect congestion half way into the race!

This race finished with me having to stand in a huge queue for transport that never arrived. I heard from organisers that the transport did not come, and some spectators said on the way there the driver was rude, got lost and said he might just go home. Before I booked the bus I asked how frequent they would be and I was informed 'every 15 minutes'. I waited 45 minutes and then a coach that had been parked there the whole time, but was not supposed to be for us, decided to take people. Unfortunately there was not enough room for us all, and although I believe I finished 8th in my event and went straight to the bus point, I did not make it onto the bus. With no sign of the shuttle buses I contacted my driver to meet me on the main road and decided not to wait any longer for the imaginary shuttle buses.
. It is a shame, what spcould be a great event was ruined for me by a catalogue of errors... Many of people in the queue felt the same.

In short: Nice race through a fairly flat route, great to finish at Murrayfield Stadium. That's special.
