In short: A disappointment
In full: Most of it has already been said...
Long wait for the start - not good when you've done a warm-up, sorted eating and drinking etc only to have to wait 45 mins in the cold with no warning.
Poor PA system - couldn't hear announcements about delay (if there were any)
Poor goody bag and no orchestra, artwork etc. Need to sort finishing area out and make chips easier to remove.
Shame not to be able to use the football / athletics facilities and finish on the track.

But... good to have a traffic free route rund the town centre. Maybe involve some runners in the organisation next time?

In short: 5K Really enjoyable, PA system needs huge upgrade though!
In full: 5K stared very late which wouldn't have been so bad if the PA system was audible. However, otherwise I thought it was a super event with friendly runners good Km markers, plenty of marshalls. Good parking from which I was able to leave esily. Hope the organisers put the same event on next year with improved PA system!!

In short: Fine if you are local
In full: Delayed start, dull man giving blow by blow account of route completely unnecessary! Scenery not very interesting unless you come from the town. A few challenging undulations but overall a nice course. Not many spectators around and where was all the km entertainment we were promised?
Long wait to get through finish. I will do it again because its great to have a local race. Marshalls and signs all great - thanks.

In short: Appreciated the road closures, shame about the delay at start
In full: Had high hopes of this one, but had the feeling they were not expecting so many to turn up. Start was delayed considerably and did not notice any of the promised artwork near the km markers - maybe I missed it?.

Nice to have the run of the town centre and the support there. Would have preferred water at the stations as you end up spilling squash all over yourself - and one poor girl had trouble getting it all out to us, sorry if I was a bit impatient, whoever you are!

The goody bag was a bit of a let down, had better at small club runs.

Anyway, thanks to all the marshalls and helpers who gave up their Sunday morning so we could do our stuff.

In short: Promised a lot delivered a little
In full: The organisation up until the day was faultless. The organisation on the day was a real let down.
The event was staged with good intentions, but I was disappointed with what was delivered.

Frustrating delay at the start, was just glad it wasn't raining. The facilities were basic (shortage of loo rolls and hand washing facilities in the portaloos), PA was inaudible, didn't hear the start gun for the 10k (was there one??).

The run and route was enjoyable and just challenging enough.

However, the bottleneck at the end was as frustrating as the start as we queued to collect water and goody bag.

Nice finishers medal.

The organisation of this really needs to be improved if this event is going to be a success in the future.

In short: Big improvements needed in the organisation but a nice course
In full: Where to start?

Long delay to the start because of disorganised parking arrangements. The organisers were fortunate that it was not raining. Minimal refreshments on site.

Lengthy race briefing that included a blow by blow description of the route.

No warning of the approaching drink stations, drinks only on one side of the course (fine with small numbers but not with this many) and unclear if you were getting a cup with water or orange liquid in.

The bottle neck after the finish where a couple of ladies were doing their best to retrieve our chips.

The 'goody' bag that was a waste of space.

The strange drink at the finish that looked like washing up liquid.

The final e-mail about the race enthused about artworks at each K marker - where were they?

BUT I enjoyed the race itself and did my best time this year so not all bad. Plus as I parked elsewhere and ran down to Sixfields I may have got away before those stuck in the car parks at the end.

I may do this again in a couple of years once I've seen if they can improve the running of it.

In short: Good course, with some challenging hills. Organisation could be improved!
In full: A promising race was spoiled through a 45 minute delay to the start, followed by an unnecessary 30 minute wait in the car park before we were allowed out.
Race itself was good, with some fast times possible. Lots of drinks stations and well sign-posted with lots of marshalls.
Apart from the delays, a louder PA system would help the waiting runners know what was going on.

In short: Nice course. Organisation was worst than hopeless.
In full: Good course for its first year, but as above start was 45 min late and we had to sit in the car park for ages. Would have liked water at the drinks stations. The Goody bag was a waste of time no food just leaflets.
