In short: THE best 10 miler around In full: Second time for me of running this race. Like all of Nicky and Alan's at Events to Live's races, ran like clockwork. Loved running around the Top Gear track and then got really stuck into the run. Not a pb for me as been ill recently, but not far off. Yes it may be undulating at times but there are also lots of flats and downhills, so a pb is definitely a possibility. The marshals are super friendly and you get a fab atmosphere when you finish. Good touch having a choc bar at the end, and the obligatory yet good medal.
I just enjoyed this run - two of my friends got pbs, and then watched the 20 milers come in. The weather didn't ruin it either. Looking forward to the next one in March.
Thanks guys. Date of review: September 4, 2011

In short: Where was the Chip timing? This is for the Autumn 2011 race In full: Review for the Autumn 2011 race. Another good running of this event let down for me in two areas: lack of loos, and no chip timing. Chip timing is fairly standard now at most races and was a feature of the Spring Tempest. The race isn't cheap, so I would expect this. Maybe Sport Systems have massively increased their cost, I don't know, but the reasons for no chip timing were not apparent from the ETL website. In short: Challenging Race, lack of toilets ruined it for me In full: Whilst there appeared to be specific directions, my husband and I still managed to get lost, and end up with numerous others at the wrong entrance gate, no one seemed to know how to get to the right gate and was quite chaotic.
This meant whilst we should have been over an hour early, we arrived 35 minutes before the start, having spent over 1:30 in the car, I (a female) desperately needed to go to the loo, and my heart sank when I saw the queue for the porta-loos. Credit to the organisers, they tried to get all the guys in the queue to use the urinals, but that still meant with approx 800 entrants on the day, there was a large queue, and I missed the start of the race (yes, queued for over 35 minutes!)
When I did get to start, I had not had the best race preparation, stretching in the queue was about it.
The race itself was definitely challenging, undulating, certainly with some short sharp hills. I heard lots of people who signed up to the spitfire drop out after 1 lap, I certainly wouldn't have liked to have to do another lap!
Great medal, good chip timing, but I can't be doing with organisers who don't get enough toilets in for the ladies. Date of review: June 28, 2011

In short: Intertesting tough run - well organised and good marshalling In full: Well done to all involved. My concerns for giving this race top marks is that you do run with alot of road traffic hich is off putting along with the camber of the road when away from the airfield. Very good medal and plentyful supply of drinks and energy gels - very generous. Well done Alan and the team Date of review: March 15, 2011

In short: Great event! 3rd time for me, and it gets better every time. In full: Great organisation. Excellent location. Just enough variation in terrain to make it challenging. I will be back in September hoping to slice another 30seconds off my PB! Thanks for a great Sunday morning. Date of review: March 14, 2011

In short: Great! Thank you In full: Had a great time, especially when I was near the end! Hard enough to challenge me, but not so much to put me off. Well organised, good water/ power gel stops, enough loos and very welcoming. Will definitely do again. Date of review: March 14, 2011
