In short: Tougher than expected due to the surface.
In full: Not a bad race along the sea wall, although the beginning was pretty poor as most did not quite know what was going on. One minute there was a photo being taken for the local rag, the next we were off. Seemed to be a bit of a mix up with the 5k runners at the front. Would much prefer if KM markers were used instead of mile ones. Also thought the marshalls looked a bit glum, clearly not runners, just rotarians.
Despite minor whinges, did enjoy the run, although went off too quick and died a bit late on. Did not realise the surface would take out as much as it did. Will certainly do next year.

In short: Difficult running surface
In full: The Canvey sea wall is mainly stoney/gravel so it does interfere with your rhythm. There was a bit of a cock-up where the 5k and 10k runners split. Otherwise, good event.

In short: Good flat course for PBs and can choose between 5 & 10K
In full: Did say part of the course was off road, should have been the other way round!

Organisation was good, apart from when the two races split into two and the front runners of the 5K ended up going the wrong way. Once the marshalls corrected the mistake, these guys had probably added 40 secs with the extra distance they ran.

But a really good mix of runners and facilities were great on site.

In short: Enjoyable (?) way to spend a sunday morning
In full: A good event. will do next year. only a few grumbles, why start the 5k and 10k at the same time? The distance markers - 1 mile and 5 mile, k's would have been nice. These aside, a well marshalled event.
