In short: Leeds' best race: well organised, friendly and a super fast course.
In full: No major complaints about this year. The coloured bibs and segregation of spectators and runners made the start better.

However, the starting zones could have been better enforced. I was in the 45-55 zone and spent the first 3 miles overtaking people who clearly weren't running at anything like that pace.

Overall though, a great race with fantastic PB potential. A few friends ran it as a first 10k and are converted.

In short: Great PB potential - does attract fast runners but looked to be beginners there too. Great for setting a good 10K time.

In short: My 1st 10K and I will be doing it again next year.
In full: This was my first 10K race, and had set myself a target of getting under the hour mark, but sadly missed it by just over a minute... but still enjoyed the race and the experience. but will be running the abbey dash again next year.

In full: Third time I've run this.

Coloured bibs this year were a good idea. Not enforced but runners seemed to sort this out themselves. The start was my main problem with previous years - not sure if I lined up earlier but I had no issue this year and it made a big difference not weaving in and out of over-ambitious starters for the first 5k.

Not really fussed about the scenery - I was concentrating on running (surprised to read in another review that there was a water station - I didn't even notice!).

Only criticism would be the difficulty in finding a chip bin at the end. Oh and the marshall standing next to me at the start who was debating with his mate whether he could go and have a "slash" in a shop doorway up one of the side streets - which he then did (aren't they there to STOP that kind of thing?)

Sub 40 next year :-)

In short: Fantastic fast & fairly flat pb potential course in city centre
In full: Not the most scenic courses! but its fast and the potential for a pb make this one race not to miss. The downsides to this: long queues for the toilets and even longer one for the baggage store - we didnt use this in the end - deciding that a quick dash to the car to leave belongings would be quicker. The start area was flagged in time order and the runners numbers were colour coded too however people could just go where they wanted and the usual thing happened in that people who know they are not going to run/havent trained for that speed are at the very front at the startline! Otherwise great organisation and also fantastic to be able to block traffic on this extremely busy road in & out of the city centre.

In short: The course won't win scenery awards, but it's a fun, well organised race with a fast, flat PB-friendly course.
In full: Not an inspiring course, but fast, flat and great for a PB. Some nice touches make this ideal for new runners or occasional racers. A textbook example of great race organisation. Colour-coded bibs this year, but no attempt to enforce this - however, this didn't seem to have resulted in any congestion. In all, a great race if you don't mind the scenery or the out-and-back nature of the course.
