In short: Fantastic route and views, great slog up the Orme, good to see finish line from 3miles away!
In full: Just squeezed this one in before the weather got silly: would still recommend leggings! The start wasn't great - bit clogged up and a few bottle necks till about mile 2, but clear up the hill and down the other side. Liked the beach-path (not sand). Water stations not placed quite right - would have preferred @5/8/10 rather that 3/8/11. Finish needs more hand-out points as had to queue for 20 mins (finishing 1hr48). my second half marathon, enjoyed, will be back!

In short: Challenging but very enjoyable race.
In full: Great race, the start was much improved from last year, and I didn't experience any issues with collecting the T-shirt and medal at the end either. Will be back again next year.

In short: Great atmosphere, great views, great race
In full: Excellent race with a tough course but outstanding views.Very friendly,
especially the vocal, supportive marshalls.
The climb up the Great Orme feels like it will never end, but it's downhill and fast to the finish.
Great organization, just needs a tweak at the end to sort the bottleneck.
Already pencilled in for next year.

In short: Excellent course with a bit of a lump in the middle.
In full: Really enjoyed this race. Course was great, a little tight at places close to the start which caused a bit of congestion with slower runners causing the occasional bottlenecks, but nothing significant.

Really good local support all the way round. Apparently the views are spectacular at the top of the Orme, but by that stage I think my eyes were bleeding.

Great coming down the other side and could certainly make up the time lost going up.

Bit chaotic at the end aswell, but again nothing a little tweek wouldn't sort out.

Definately recommend putting this on your list of races to do.

In short: Abandoned baggage area, possessions missing
In full: I returned to the secure baggage area/waggon straight after I finished to find the waggon abandoned & my bags missing. I found them thrown in the road for any member of public to take, with no marshal attending them. When I eventually got back to my car after prizegiving I found the small bag I had shoved in the top of my main bag, with my phone in, was missing. I am lucky my purse, car keys & camera was still there. NOT impressed.
I think if you leave stuff in a secure baggage area, it should remain there until the race is over, not have your possessions thrown in the street.
On contacting the organiser he has lied through his teeth saying all bags were on the waggon until 3 hours 10 after the race, therefore I must have finished the race after this time.
I DID NOT finish the race in 3 hours 10, & my bags were abandoned, unattended, in the street with possessions missing, before the race was over, under 3 hours.

In short: Stunning views and good support from the crowd. The Great Orme added an extra challenge for me.

In short: A really friendly race, from spectators to marshalls to fellow runners. A tough climb, but compensated for by the views. Organisation still needs a bit of tweaking but let's not forget it's only the second time it's been run.
In full: Some of last year's criticisms were taken on board and I'm sure this year's will be too. I spoke to Chris (the race director) before the race and he said the finish had had to be changed only this week, because of the work going on. I don't think the intention was for us to run up that narrow slope at mile 13.

I suffered last year for trying to hammer it up the Orme. This year I took it much more steadily, finished 10 mins faster and felt great. I was really impressed to receive a text 10 mins after I'd finished, giving me my chip time and position - what a fabulous touch.

My only gripe is having paid an extra £5 for a tech top, I wasn't expecting to be told they'd run out of small ones. I don't know why the names list for the tech tops didn't include the ordered size. I finished 248/913 so it's not as if I was one of the last home - although pre-ordering should mean EVERYONE gets what they paid for, irrespective of position. I think this needs sorting out for next year, because if I'm not guaranteed what I pay for, I'm not coughing up the extra next time.

In short: Overall well organised, a very scenic race (as promised). The Orme is a killer but is part of the attraction. The bit after the finish needs a look at though.
In full: A really great race. Very scenic and worth the trip from Kent to take part. Perfect running conditions, though if the plans to increase the race to 5,000 for next year do happen then maybe a change of date might be appropriate. Running up the Orme in bad weather with thousands on the course might be asking for trouble. The start was well organised, the atmosphere was great. Course was a bit tight in places and will need a review if there are more runners. I wasn't too impressed with the finish (my only real criticism). The last thing a runner wants after crossing the finish line is to stand around for 20-25 mins in a queue getting cold. This part really does need looking at. Really nice bespoke medal. Well worth the 600 mile round trip. Thank you to all the stewards for their support and the organisers for a great effort. A bit of tweaking needed and it WILL be the best in Wales!
