In short: A great race - glad to see it back In full: I really enjoyed the race and echo what everybody else has been saying about marshals etc. I am a TRAC member, so I guess I am biased but on a wet and potentially manky day I salute those who were out on the course for over 4 hours, at least us runners were moving about a bit.
On a personal note, I would like to thank Steve from Tunbridge Wells Harriers who ran the race with me and helped me to a PB time I never thought possible. You were great company and kept me going when I was flagging.
Finally, the usual old story, toilets. Experience has taught me that there are two things certain about every race ever organised. (a) folk will moan about toilets (b) folk won't read their race instructions fully. I used the gents near the race start, ten minutes before the start, and was in and out in less than a minute. There were approximately ten ladies outside their loo at that time.
I am TRAC treasurer this year and I was stunned at the cost of portaloo hire. The four at HQ plus a bank of urinals cost £552 to hire including delivery. That is about £1.25 per runner, nearly 10% of your entry fee. Getting the balance right between facilities laid on, goody bag contents, race entry fee etc is very difficult and to be honest I think it was about bang on. Date of review: March 7, 2012

In short: Many thanks an excellent race In full: As usual the first point is to thank the organisers and marshalls for giving their time. The marshalls were very supportive. In my view this is a really great race for Spring marathon preparation, though for me it's best treated as a training run rather than a race. The scenery is highly varied. Overall the course is interesting but pretty flat.
Thanks to TRAC for organising this. The effort put in by clubs like yours is greatly appreciated. Also thanks to whoever decided this was a Kent Grand Prix event. The same again next year please! Date of review: March 6, 2012

In short: gently undulating but fast course - superbly organised race. In full: Thanet have marshals to die for - simply the best. Jelly babies and smiling faces everywhere and race organisation that was phenomenal. Well done to the RD and the support team around him. Great job. Fantastic goodie bag - technical T and medal and food and special offers.... Race HQ in a warm and try school hall. Public bogs across the road as well as portaloos. Parking (free) everywhere. How good does it get... Even the rain held off for most of the race.... Date of review: March 6, 2012

In short: Well organised with very friendly and encouraging marshals In full: Not keen on the new route having to go round the promenade so many times, but a great race all the same. Given the cold and rainy weather the marshals deserve special thanks. Look forward to next year, but more toilets are needed. Date of review: March 6, 2012

In short: Great spring marathon prep In full: Always a good tester before an April marathon. Once youve finished the loops at the start the route is mainly nice and scenic ( although undulating to say the least). Marshalls were great. PLenty of water, and the t shirt plus medal was welcome. Thanks Thanet Date of review: March 6, 2012

In short: Challenging 20 miler, excellent pre marathon training run! In full: Quite hilly, lovely scenery depending on the weather. This year it was overcast sometimes windy & rainy, so not so pretty to look at. Only down side was the amount of dog mess on the route between Ramsgate & Broadstairs....it really was disgusting! Lots of comments from fellow runners. Not a good advert for a coastal resort! Apart from this, an excellent race with chatty fellow runners! Date of review: March 6, 2012

In short: Excellent club organised race In full: A really good marathon preparation event. Thanet did a great job - well marshalled making it impossible to go off course, a route that takes you past the start at mid way and decent scenery despite the weather. Well done organisers for the no headphones policy - let's have more doing it! Date of review: March 6, 2012

In short: I know its 20 miles. But TRAC run it like clockwork. Excellent. In full: Parking is fine. Lovely marshals at every turn with proper bottles of water and the occasional jelly baby :) a couple of deadly hills! but they are a challenge for us all training for the spring mara I cant complain. Only grip as usual not enough portaloos! oh well. another top race TRAC well done. Especially the local scouts ;) Date of review: March 5, 2012

In short: For serious spring marathoners only. Ugly, dull and fiddly course. 4 toilets at Race HQ is pathetic for a supposedly serious runners' event Date of review: March 5, 2012
