In short: local, inexpensive, flat and friendly In full: Makes a change from most races in the numerous laps format - liked the track finish. not really clear where start/finish lines were - my garmin had it 150 metres over 10k. Good atmosphere and facilities. Date of review: January 15, 2012
In short: Poor course set up with all corners being cut and multiple loops In full: Starting on running track there was no attempt to send runners round inside then outside of the track, rather to all go round different distances to overtake in outside lanes etc. The park was fine but as the number of cones were limited it appeared all runners were cutting the corners of the park particulerly at the top where significant distance was saved by some. Stewards on positions were encouraging and friendly but just needs a rethink in terms of the course. Stretching and use of the health club a good bonus and T-shirt and medal also good. Would have prefered a better medal however. Date of review: September 21, 2011
In short: 500m too short and I don't even appear on list of finishers!! In full: If I wanted to jog round Norman Park then I could do so for free- why on earth did I need to pay ten quid for the privilege? There were barely any marshals and just a few cones to mark the way.
I did not even appear in the list of finishes- the only silver lining was that since the race was not even the correct distance my time anyway would have been pretty meaningless.
Runner's World should never advertise this race again: the only word to describe the race organizer is a "conman"- get lots of people to enter the race (good time for preparation for Spring Marathon), pocket the cash and do less than the bare minimum on the day. Date of review: January 20, 2011
