In short: A very tough but hugely enjoyable event In full: This was my first Marathon and the most enjoyable event i have ever done.A finishing time of 4.23 left me on a high after completing this tough course. The weather was awful at the start but did not dampen the spirits of all those who took part.I can't wait to return in 2006 Date of review: October 31, 2005
In short: WOW ! In full: this was my first ever marathon (so i got a pb) and i can't wait for it to be my second. everything about it was to be lauded. and thanks to all the support and helpers that made it very special, not forgetting the weather of course. Date of review: October 31, 2005
In short: OUT OF THIS WORLD In full: This was my third marathon in 3months and I can't decide if i enjoyed this or london more. The weather was horrid but the course and viewsn made up for that. The friendly runners, supporters and locals made it a dream. I managed 3:36 so I'm well pleased. Many thanks to all involved. Date of review: October 31, 2005
In short: When the aches have gone, the memories will remain. Brilliant! In full: One of the toughest events I can conceive, finishing with a real brute of a hill and a treacherous off road descent, but I loved it. Superb scenery, memorable (!!!) weather, friendly runners, marshals bearing gifts (mars bars and sweet, hot tea!). The wife tells me the atmosphere amongst the spectators was brilliant too. Well done to all the organisers. See you next year. Date of review: October 31, 2005
In short: already booked time off work for 2006! In full: You will not find a better race of any distance in this country, or probably anywhere else come to mention it. The only 'must-do' race in my calendar, and the often poor weather just adds to the experience!
In short: Great marathon In full: A great race but the weather was the pits! Marshalling & drinks stations excellent. A very well organised race. The only reason I would not do it again is because there are too many others to do out there. Well done Nat Trust & Hyder. I hopefully will have recovered by the end of the week!
