In short: A unique race with something for everyone, but be prepared!
In full: 14.2 miles.Downhill start then flat trail for much of the way. Don't fear the hilly section - the tarmac is a welcome relief from the dusty trail and the cakes aren't far off by then. Trees provide welcome shade. Look out for walkers/bikes/horses and glare from the water. Friendly marshals hold the gates open for you. Good supply of cakes at the end.

In short: Great race!! Hot, sticky but well worth the sore legs the next day.
In full: It was always going to be a battle with temperatures as hot as they were. The event was organised to an exceptional standard. Lots of water stations and great cakes. (even if I did feel too sick to eat any)

In short: Always a well organised, challenging and very scenic event. A few cheeky hills thrown in for good measure. The heat this year made it especially challenging!

In short: Great organisation and scenery
In full: My second year and 20 minutes down on last year - the heat really got to me. The organisation was brilliant and the weather had definitely been taken into account with lots of sponges and water. The scenery is beautiful and the cakes at the end were delicious. I'll be back next year - whatever the weather !!

In short: Torture!
In full: Aaagh, the hils the heat!! My legs have never felt so bad! The long hill around 11 miles finished me off and I had to walk for the first time in my 10 year running career. The cheery marshalls and cake at the finish were top notch.
