In short: Fun, friendly race - would do again In full: Lovely to do a smaller race, really friendly atmosphere and thought the organisation was great. Liked the t-shirt too. Yes there was a few steep climbs but there was lots of lovely downhills too. Some of the path was a little bumpy but that added to the fun. I really enjoyed it and will definitely do next year Date of review: May 17, 2011
In short: Great but course could have been better In full: Lovely venue but the course itself was disappointing and a little dull. It was also quite challenging with several hilly sections including a ridiculously steep grassy climb for the the last 500 yards. HOWEVER it was brilliantly organised with great marshalling and an excellent village fete atmosphere at the start with some good family activities. Date of review: May 17, 2011
In short: Great organisation - route could be better In full: A generally great race, but knowing some of the routes used at Bedgebury for 10K's, it could be better - finishing on uphill grass is way too harsh and also some of the trails used were too uneven.
However, it is still my favourite pace to do a 10K and the orgainsation was very very good. More than enough marshalls, a very good goody bag, free massage's afterwards.
You're not going to get a PB here, but you will enjoy it. Date of review: May 16, 2011
In short: My first race - it was brilliant fun, beautiful surroundings, full of friendly people In full: This was my first race and I really enjoyed it. It was well organised and spacious. The marshalls were helpful and friendly. The surroundings were beautiful - I wanted to stop and enjoy them more! At times I felt I was in an Escher painting as the uphills kept coming but there were also plenty of flat sections to catch my breath. The burgers and the free massage in the event village were much appreciated and I felt I'd earned them. I'd definitely come back next year. Date of review: May 16, 2011
In short: fab day out! In full: Fab , beautiful challenging and well organised race with some nice touches (wine tasting) However disapointed at lack of vegetarian hot food not all of us can survive post race on a bag of salt and vinegar and a coffee especialy when its along car journey home. For us oldies who only operate in miles! mile markers as well as kilometre markers please! Plus a bit pricey for a 10k! Date of review: May 16, 2011
In short: What a great day out - and a PB to boot! In full: Thoroughly enjoyable day, well organised race and lovely setting, good food afterwards as well. Wasn't expecting a PB but got one anyway. The hilly grassy bit at the end was gut wrenching but the avenue of trees after that was worth it - and that was all just in the last 500 metres! Great fun. Date of review: May 15, 2011
In short: fantastic race In full: I really enjoyed this race it was my husbands and mine first event. The marshals were so friendly and made sure everyone got support through out the race. If a new runner wants to do this i wold advise them to do some hill work before doing it. The start and end have some tasty hills but it is all worth it and this can be a great first run Date of review: May 15, 2011
