In short: Well-organised; friendly, glorious scenery on a testing course
In full: I last did this in 2003 with torrential rain and flooded roads. Fine Autumnal weather made for a glorious run. The hills are hard but the marshals are friendly and encouraging. Access to the race is easy, with plenty of parking nearby; much better than Henley, which I won't do again. Marlow is a great race and I am looking forward to 2007.

In short: The hills at 8mile and 11mile make this challenging however the downhill finish is great

In short: One of the hardest half marathons I've done - I've never had to stop and walk before - but the scenery (and the downhills) made the pain worthwhile!

In short: Gorgeous scenery, good support and reasonably challenging hills
In full: Enjoyed running this in the glorious sunshine, rather than the downpour of last year. My ankle is still aching from the mile 6 downhill section, and my legs aching from mile 8 uphill! The challenge shouldn't be overestimated - none of the hills last that long. Only a couple of minor gripes - the race is a bit congested for the first mile, and no XL shirts this year. I'd recommend this race to anyone.

In short: A great challenge, well organised and good local support - amazing scenery!
In full: Awesome - this was my first half marathon and I won't ever forget it! The hills really force you to change your pace throughout (both uphill and downhill). This is not a race for clockwork x minute mile runners as you can't sustain a pace for any length of time because of the hills, they also come at the worst points in the race - the hill at 8 miles makes it hard to recover pace until the end - although the last two miles is a gentle downhill and a lovely finish!

In short: The hills, the hills - seem to be more than last year!
In full: Great race very well organised and well supported. Nice touch that they listened to the feedback on numbers last year and used one that does not rip

In short: A great race and well organised
In full: I had a great run today and thank you to Marlow Striders and all the marshalls who seemed to be on every corner with signs, mile markers and bags of encouragement.

Certainly not a good PB cours unless you have an aversion to running on the flat. The course is less about crowds and all about scenery and nice country lanes. The hills were long but not as steep as I thought they'd be, except the last one... but that was quite short.

Goody bag was fine, I'm not really a medal collector so a mars bar was pretty much all I wanted (more than I got in Bristol).

The race had a great feel to it... very friendly.

In short: First half. Not sure what to expect but really great morning out. Aching a bit now!
In full: Primarily ran this race for the free Whiteboard Marker! Bizarre but thoughtful. My first distance race since London Marathon in 2005, when I vowed never to run again. Still time is a great leveller and needing a challenge chose this one. Hit my target time of 2 hours so pretty chuffed. Knew about the hill at 8 miles so kept going promising myself the rest was down hill. Didn't expect the hill at 11 but spiced up the challenge nicely. Really well organised - will make me consider doing more organised events. Thanks to all the runners as well as organisers for making it worth while.
