In short: 1st time running enjoyed
In full: stated off well slight bottle neck at start as runners jostled for position, but can not understand why they took use through an under pass no room to move, and the baggage pick up the queue was long but was managed well that it the only moaning i have about such a well organised race the marshals as always were supportive and views around the course ranged from the river Thames to large spaces of open fields and through some nice villages over all a good race

In short: Not sure why but had the most fun running this that I've had in ages
In full: The organisation was miles better this year with the loop at the start sorted out. Great support from the marshalls and locals alike. Love the cannon and a great course for a pb as its nice and flat with space for a decent sprint finish.

In short: Lessons learned from last years inaugural race
In full: Many thanks for Purple Patch for organising a great h/m, they have taken onboard the feedback from the first M'head half last year.

Well marshalled, and cheerful crowds will have helped many to achieve a pb, although not for me alas, not enough training, just under 1hr 40min.

In short: Fast and Pleasant
In full: My 10th half marathon and definitely the fastest course I've done - delighted to shave a minute off my pb. Once you get out of Maidenhead the scenery along the Thames and through Cookham was very pleasant - I also liked the finish down Maidenhead High Street.

Only small downside that everything ground to a halt through the underpass after half a mile and generally the fist mile was pretty conjested - but overall loved the run.

In short: enjoyable despite awkward start
In full: Credit to the organisers for doing their best to rectify most of the challenges from last year, (I thought the baggage drop team worked really hard and as best they could). Once away from the town centre it's a flat, fast, pb potential and enjoyable course. Excellent town centre location; good car parks, public transport, cafes etc - and I guess the price you pay for that in Maidenhead is a narrow and bunched start and having to use an underpass. It'll be interesting to see how this can be resolved for next year.

In short: An enjoyable run, only spoilt by the underpass blockage
In full: I would certainly think of doing this again, if the subway was removed from the route some how. maybe it cant, im not local to maidenhead. We came to a halt and it messes with your pace.
otherwise a good race, see you again.

In short: Great, flat and fast. 3 main gripes. 1 - too expensive. 2 - subway bit not good and, I understand, became log jammed. 3 - baggage drop and collection terrible.
In full: This is a really good race with good potential, but the 3 issues need to be sorted to make it a real classic (which it could be).

In short: My new favourite race?
In full: Loved the convenient car parking, after picking up your race pack you could even sit inside - a rarity and nice on a day like today when a little cold. No ugly bits on the course and probably flattest one I've ever done. Lots of happy marshalls. Minor gripes - no goody bag and baggage retrieval still a 15 minute process which I understand is a huge improvement on last year.
Overall, loved the race, a really pleasant surprise.

In short: Flat, fast course and well managed
In full: You will struggle to find a flatter course, if you exclude the 2 subways that you have to run through towards start and end of course. The course is basically two laps through some lovely villages with decent support. Nice finish in town centre. Excellent marshals and nice medal plus banana at end. Will be back next year.
