In short: slick organisation, superb support In full: really well organised event. Felt really safe throughout as roads were closed for us. Awesome support at Leigh. This is the model for Town half marathons.
In short: superbly supported and organised In full: tough undulating course, good atmosphere amongst runners, tremendous support from the locals and very well marshalled. Thoroughly enjoyed it Date of review: September 22, 2013
In short: Hard but worth it In full: My first half marathon, a bit harder than expected but very well organised, and finished timewise bang on where I was aiming for.
A big thank you to the organisers, marshalls, Scouts, Air Cadets and everyone supporting en-route especially in Leigh (seems every man, woman, child, cat and dog was out to cheer us on)- that mad a hard mornings run worth it! Date of review: September 22, 2013
In short: Challenging and very well organised In full: My first return to this race since the first one in 2011, and improved my time. Nice course and great support from the locals in Leigh. Enjoyed it....
In short: Well-organised and a great scenic countryside route In full: This was my first time running the Tonbridge half marathon (though have ran many half marathons/marathons previously) and I thought it was a very well-organised event, and the route is mainly scenic countryside and through villages.
I was no-where near my PB in finishing due to a recent injury, but despite the course being undulating there is a good opportunity to get a good time in for this race.
There was a good turn out from local people, especially through Leigh where the street was lined with supporters cheering and children had set up an impromptu water station.
Overall I would recommend this half marathon to experienced runners and beginners alike.
Thanks to the organisers and helpers for making this an enjoyable race. Date of review: September 22, 2013
In short: Beautiful course, great support, a definite challenge to return and beat my time! In full: I shouldn't really have run this as I've been ill all weekend with a rotten cold, but I ran it anyway as i'd raised loads for Prostate Cancer so was determined. The crowd support and runner support got me round a charming course, and I really hope to return next year fit and healthy and beat my time on this challenging yet delightful course! In short: Top Race - Great organisation and fantastic course.. In full: I thought Tunbridge Wells was great - this is just as good with a great facility to get changed have a drink/snack and prepare for the race. Can't fault it - lovely course, I liked the last few miles which were the same as the start - bit different but enjoyable, none the less. Very undulating - not PB friendly especially, but had trained hard for this and picked up a good time. Marashals superb, water stations excellent.. support wonderful, results on board right away - can't fault it - well done all at Tonbridge ! Will be back, of course ! In short: For only it's 3rd year, very we'll organised In full: When they say undulating they mean it!! Good course though but one you definitely have to train for!! Scenery lovely and the crowds at Leigh made all them miles seem worthwhile, the people of Tonbridge know how to support a race! Marshall's and volunteers were all fantastic. Definitely give it a go. In short: Challenging Course but Great Event In full: The organisation stands out on this event, the facilities and car parking are great, the whole set up was slick and organised. The route was really nice too, albeit challenging, it is still suitable for beginners. There were plenty of hills to keep you honest. What surprised me was the support from the crowd, it was a dull and rainy day but there were still hundreds of people cheering us on throughout the villages we ran through. There was special touch at the end with Dame Kelly Holmes giving out the medals. I would join this event again. Date of review: September 5, 2013
