In short: Organisers took on board comments after last year's hiccups and has resulted in an excellent race!!
In full: Two days later and I'm still on a high! Enjoyed it more than last year because the course had been tweaked and think the organisers have now got it right so no further adjustments required. Recommended as a MUST RUN AT LEAST ONCE becasue it has everything - scenery, atmosphere, music, even a bit of sand - now that was a surprise!!!

In short: Bagagged lorries left Birkenhead Park too early, left me at the start with a rucksack!
In full: For me personally, the biggest gripe was having the start and finish so far apart, the logistics of getting to the start made a lot of people late for the race - added to the fact that the baggage lorries left early - you were knackered for a good time

In short: Excellent first marathon! Emerging from the tunnel to the sound of drums was great!
In full: Excellent organisation... carpark, baggage buses, toilets, water & gel stops, photos, marshals and finishing area were all great. The course was good... the first half on the Wirral side being mainly flat and having a great view along the promenade in New Brighton; the second half is more hilly but emerging from the tunnel to the sound of drums and a fantastic crowd really help. Great support from Liverpool and the volunteers. I was pleased with the medal, technical tshirt, banana, water and cliff bar when I had finished. An unforgettable first marathon!

In short: 2nd Marathon, new PB, loved it!
In full: So I ran the Liverpool marathon on Sunday, yes still sore! I ran it in 3.53.05. Was my second marathon, ran London last year in 4.23.08.
It was hillier than I expected! 1st half was very scenic along the coast, pretty flat. 2nd half hillier. Organisation good, spectators amazing, medal and t-shirt brill, can't fault it really, still buzzing!!! Thanks RunLiverpool.
Would highly recommend, PB achievable as long as your prepared for the hillier parts.

In short: Fantastic race, would recommend to anybody
In full: Really well organised, loved the new altered route, it really shows off what a great city Liverpool is. The crowds and volunteers were fantastic and supportive and really helped keep you going. Coming out of the tunnel to the drums and applauds was amazing. I ran this race last year too and have done London in between and cant wait for 2013 to give it another go. I would recommend it to anybody. Thanks to everybody involved in the organisation and volunteering.

In short: The best marathon event I've taken part in - thoroughly recommend it
In full: I absolutely loved this event. Its my 5th marathon (done Edinburgh, Greater Manchester and Robin Hood x 2) and my most enjoyable. The run along the New Brighton promenade was uplifting, the tunnel run was unforgettable, the noise at the tunnel-end was thunderous and the support in Liverpool was fantastic. The organisation was clockwork (including parking at Liverpool One and shuttle-bus to Birkenhead)and I'm really struggling to think of any criticism....alright, the chocolate energy bar at the finish was like a 1970s dried-up dog turd, but who cares? I haven't stopped smiling since Sunday....Will be back next year
