In short: Great race for all abilities In full: Smashed by PB on this race. Its virtually all flat or downhill apart from a few short inclines. The scenary is great, especially at the start line which really gets you in a good mood for a run. A bit congested in the first mile but soon spreads out and the staggered starts helped. In short: Great race, organisation, scenery and weather In full: Really enjoyed this race on a lovely day in a wonderful part of the country. Well done to the organisers for a great event. Very fast although don't think it is one to claim a PB on as about 0.1 mile short which could be my Garmin and nearly all downhill. Will be back next year. Date of review: October 7, 2013
In short: Stunning Route, Fast Route, Great Organisation. In full: This was a great race! Really enjoyed the scenery. Weather was perfect for enjoying the run (although too warm for me to get close to a PB). Very well organised with the coach transfer working very well. Will certainly consider this again next year. In short: Top race for your first half In full: Loved it, first official half marathon ... Really lucky with the weather, amazing clear day so you could see the amazing scenery. Great organisation with coaches to start etc.. Only quibble... Where was the 11 mile marker? Felt like the s Longest 2 miles ever! Brilliant race.. See you next year! Date of review: October 6, 2013
In short: Well organised and super scenic race In full: This is a point to point run that ends at Ashbourne. It is mostly flat or slightly downhill and has real PB potential (I took 14 minutes off my previous half marathon time).
It is well organised and you are kept very well informed of the race up until the day itself. I can't wait to do it again next year.
In my view its probably one of the most scenic runs in the country.
Great stuff, well done to all involved. Date of review: October 6, 2013
In full: Ran this a number of weeks ago, when recovering from a hip injury. So took it nice and easy, worth no rushing great weather and views. Great water stations with goodies every 3 miles. Date of review: October 22, 2012
In short: Fantastic Half for PBs with glorious views and downhill all the way In full: +ve :- This was a friendly race and organisers did their best to cater for your needs. It was a first for them here too! Glad to have the bus option. I did not have any hassle with over-crowding (except at the end) and other trail users were careful and obliging. Scenery was superb if you were not running too fast downhill to miss it! -ve: Thought it was expensive for a Half (£22 + £5 for the bus) but if most of this going to Childrens trust that was ok. Disappointed to miss out on my prize as first back in my category and still missed the presentation! Would have liked a goody or 2 (in addition to cheap medal and bikkies) e.g. fruit but probably race not sponsored yet? Date of review: October 15, 2012
