In short: Good course but event lacks atmosphere.
In full: Ran this for the first time this year. Nice flat course ensured a reasonable time (although not helped by the stiff wind blowing across the lake!) but parking is tight in the allocated car park unless you arrive early and the organisers (as reported from last year on this site) could be more friendly. Needs more atmosphere and not great value if you enter on the day like I did but would do it again for sure.

In short: Pretty flat course around a big lake and a bit alongside roads
In full: Only hills are going under subways, bits around willen lake are very nice but quite alot is alongside roads. Struggled to find the start as did a few other runners i saw but once there very well organised.

In short: My first attempt at this distance, so had to get a PB
In full: Chip timing worked well, but timing mat at start too would have helped.
Disappointed not to get any momento. Still waiting for the results to be published

In short: My first attempt at this distance, so no comparisons. I enjoyed it very much but can see ways to improve organisation
In full: Having left early to park (not itself easy) meant hanging around for ages by the start doing endless warm ups. There were no visible officials and when we eventually got going, no megaphone with no hope of hearing the marshalls from the middle of the pack. Why not register by the start/finish area? Why not add directions to the Willen lake toilets, easily as far away as Camp Hill? A memento would have been nice, as would a banana! Still, the shortcomings should be easy to fix, the course was enjoyable and I will be back next year!

In short: Partial chip-timing a mistake.
In full: If you advertise an event as "chip timed", do it properly - ie a mat at the start and at the finish.

A mat just at the finish is next to useless for runners starting well back on the grid.

In short: Got my PB. Fast and flat
In full: A bit stingy with only providing bottle of water at the end. Nice course with nice scenery. Would run again.

In short: Where's the momento???
In full: Windy and muddy in places, but can't do much about that.
Chip timing worked well, but timing mat at start too would have helped.
Disappointed not to get any momento, especially as i missed out on PB too.

In short: Better than 2005
In full: Start to finish chip would have been better. Mostly a good race with no major problems.

In short: I was disappointed with organisation
In full: no marshalls on car parks what was the idea in pre entering if you then had to queue to get your number and chip when we finished all we got was a bottle of water. I also think they need to have a race limit of 400
