In short: My first half marathon and found it well organised and great towel at the end. well done to bideford for organising it!
In full: I would have like to purchase a t-shirt with the half marathon on it, as this is my very first race at this distance. Nice course. will do it again!

In short: Excellent race - Thanks to the marshalls who stood out in horrible conditions. Bath Towel was much better than the usual T shirt.
In full: Despite the awful weather. mangaed a Pb on an excellent flat course.

In short: Well organised flat fast run.
In full: This is an easy flat half marathon(especially for Devon).Well organised and popular. Its popularity might mean its grown too large for current race hq.A good run and good day.

In short: The first 7 miles largely uphill on a main road, with traffic passing! Then the last few miles on a disused railway, with limited scenery.

In short: Wet and windy - few hills midway through, but mostly flat. Good chance of a PB.
In full: Really nice race, PB in spite of the conditions. Worst part was the start loop through the town, once out onto the open road it was fine. The last 6 miles is pretty flat along an old railway line. Thanks again to the marshalls for standing there in horrible weather until everyone had gone past. I preferred the water stops with bottles instead of cups. Only let down for me was that I would have liked to have got a shower. I'll be back next year (in better weather?) to get another PB :-)

In short: Wet and windy but huge fun, especially the last 6 miles on the Tarka trail
In full: Very enjoyable, even though wet and windy - once on the Tarka trail with wind behind and rain abating, it was excellent. The venue is good and the hills not too bad.

In short: Worth the 259 mile round trip
In full: Apart from a sort of stuttery start where we seemed to be an obstacle course for the traffic it was really well organised

It cannot have been much fun marshalling, although for us runners we were soaked after a mile anyway so it did not make much difference

Definately a chance of a PB although not today with the wind against for much of the first 6

Actually enjoyed the old railway line, I do a lot of training on the local canal towpath, so long flat straights are the norm

Very friendly bunch of runners, at least before I retreated to the ipod to let Springsteen and Bon Jovi keep me going

Showers were nice and hot too: a chance to get wet all over again

In short: Worth doing
In full: Many thanks to the Marshalls and other helpers who had to stand out in the pouring rain. First time I've done the race and really enjoyed it, and the towel was a great finishing gift. I've given Organisation 80% but I would give the results service about 1%. Only the results of the first 30 or so runners posted by 2.00pm (race started 10.30) so no way of knowing if a friend had won a category prize and no announcements to say why the delay. Spoilt an excellent event. Same problem last year apparently.

In short: Generally enjoyable, but..................
In full: seemed a bit chaotic at the finish. T-shirt ok, no drinks (water ran out) and couldn't find anyone to ask. All seemed a little penned in once over the finish line, in the car park.
will be there next year though
